coaster_junky
i was looking at Kings Island's official web-site and found something interesting, or it was to me at least. http://www.visitkingsisland.com/news/list.cfm?mc_id=17 at this link i found that none of the ride names had been changed over to the "anti-paramount" names. BoddaH1994
Looks like this one passed through the park's fingers. Interesting? Yes. Some sort of clue? Very unlikely.
coaster_junky
no i wasn't seeing it as a "clue" into the future, but just one whole page and it's links having all the old paramount names on them.
KIFAN!
http://www.visitkingsisland.com/news/detail.cfm?item_id=67 Oh how I loved riding the backwards racer.
BeastinNight
I wish that Cedar Fair would completely redo Kings Island's website! make it more functional and give more information and pictures like the Cedar Point website I am not complaining just thinking and wishing. Not just pictures either. I love how Cedar Point's website has POV's of all the coasters to keep you happy in the off-season. I have to resort to youtube for KI videos and there aren't too many on there.

The Interpreter
It could be argued that there are no ride name errors on that page IF that page were, as I first thought it was (and as it at one time was), a list of links to press releases for the various rides. It does correctly cite the names of the rides as they existed at the time. Some would doubtless argue that there should not be a link to a press release for a ride that didn't have that name at the time. It would be rather ridiculous to have a press release for Tomb Raider: The Ride listed ONLY as The Crypt. That being said, the page should list both names for renamed rides, in alphabetical order. The average media type hurriedly looking for information on Backlot: Stunt Coaster, say, would not know nor care about its original name. That all being said, the links now appear to link only to fact sheets for the rides. In those cases, the ride names should indeed be the current ones, and this does indeed appear to be an oversight! thatbandguy8807
I think it was PKI aswell lol...in the early 90's or so????when I didnt ride coasters but yeah cause they had king cobra pov up also.....
CoastersRZ
It couldn`t have been the early 90`s. KI firs launched a website in 1996 I believe. And it was very rudimentary. But right around 2000 and 2001 they did have some ride videos on their website. They also had a webcam back then. I know they had it pointed at Runaway Reptar and the log flume when those were under construction prior to the start of the 2001 season. Cory Butcher
I am looking for the old Paramount Park's video that used to play on the park websites about 6 years ago. The Video was "The best in hollywood entertainment now playing" at Paramount Parks video. Has anyone come across this on Youtube or have a link to where it has been saved? I tried going to the old sites on the wayback machine, and naturally the old video that played is a broken link!
XGatorHead 8904
Say what you will about KI's website, but it beats the heck out of any Six Flags website I've seen. At least with KI you get a picture along with the description of the ride. At Six Flags, you almost always only get a description, and its often hard to tell what the ride actually is from just that and no picture. thatbandguy8807
this is true...i cant stand any of six flags' sites..i constantly look at sfft's site and hate it..but, its not any better since six flags doesnt own the park anymore

thatbandguy8807
^ now that is an awesome site!!!that is the main one I use for myself. the only downside is its a roller coaster data base..it doesnt have anything else but roller coasters. but that site is put together perfectly imo lol. XGatorHead 8904
Thanks, giga, but like bandguy said, it's only good for coasters. I use rcdb.com a lot, but for those flat rides I would have to depend on the parks websites, something Six Flags sorely lags behind in.
