Oldschool75 Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Wow check out this coaster named Saw. Saw the Ride Quote
gigacoaster2k Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Wow, that looks like a real gut wrencher. Sign me up! Quote
The Interpreter Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Great find. The article is superb, too. Quote
DropZone99 Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Steel Hawg is steeper with a 111º drop, and Mumbo Jumbo will be 112º Quote
goofywdw Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Ohh I saw this on TPR. I love the element they call the "Head Chopper". haha Looks like an excellent ride. Quote
The Interpreter Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 So, today, Friday the 13th, they try to open it. And it broke down, just before its launch! http://newslite.tv/2009/03/13/friday-13th-...for-saw-ro.html Quote
DeLorean Rider Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 How exactly do they determine what the steepest roller coaster is. I mean technically I'd think this starts at more than 110: or this; couldn't you say this drop is 180 degrees Quote
The Interpreter Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Not to mention that last article I posted says Saw's drop is 100 degrees.... As does rcdb: http://www.rcdb.com/id4162.htm Not coincidentally, The Wall Street Journal today asserted that one out of every five claims made in advertising is bogus. Quote
The Interpreter Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 More on Saw's somewhat less than perfect media day: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/artic...unch-party.html Quote
goofywdw Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 I heard terrible reports of that day with many rides closed, even Saw. Besides it going down early in the day I read it was quite the ride. Let's hope Kings Island will be much better. I have no doubts besides weather but we won't know about that for a couple more weeks. Quote
The Interpreter Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 A couple more weeks? You won't really know what media day weather day will be with certaintude until.....media day. That's the way it is. All PR people always pray there will not be a deluge of rain, hail, snow, sleet or intense fog, nor gale force winds or tornados, lightning or thunder! It's also helpful if it is not freezing cold. IndyGuy4KI Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 More on Saw's somewhat less than perfect media day: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/artic...unch-party.html It seems the ride scared everyone, just not the way they were hoping. Quote
