So my dad and I are planing a trip to Canada's Wonderland. What are some must rides and some rides to compleatly stay away from?

Also, since I haven't purched my gold pass yet, would it be cheaper to buy a platinum pass even though im probaly just going to go to KI and CW this year?

How long do you intend to spend at Wonderland?

You almost certainly will be better off with a Platinum Pass. Others will tell you all about what not to miss and what to miss (is there anything you should miss other than Time Warp, the Zamperla Flying Coaster? And even then, you will probably still try it, and regret it!). Don't miss SkyRider, a near clone of King Cobra.

Behemoth, Sledgehammer (if open), Sky Rider, Vortex, Dragon Fire, Night Mares, Pysclone, Riptide, Shockwave, and Thunder Run are all must rides in my opinion.

I would have to agree with angry........those are all must rides. Have fun!

If you never had a chance to experience Kings Island's Skylab, The Orbiter is also a must ride.

I think 3 days at the park is overkill, 2 days should be more than enough time to do everything (unless, for some reason, you really want to go back for a third day). Don't waste valuable riding time going to Behemoth first thing in the morning, since most people will do that. I would recommend either starting off in Medieval Faire (which is completely dead the first 2 hours the park is open) or at Minebuster and Skyrider. Minebuster and Skyrider's lines get insane in the afternoon so its good to get these out of the way while they're walk-ons.

And if you don't want to pay outrageous prices for 'meh' food, there are better eating options literally across the street from the park.

Meh food....what a shame. Back in the Paramount days, Wonderland had great food. Truly great food, and at reasonable prices....That was then, this is now...

food at any park isnt that good, but you go to a park for fun rides, sometimes for good but PRICY food, but mainly for the the rides.

WHAT? Dollywood, Busch Gardens Africa, Busch Gardens Europe, Knoebel's Grove Amusement Resort, Stricker's Grove, Camden Park (especially the Pronto Pups), Universal Studios, Dorney Park, Kennywood, Disney....many, many parks have excellent food. Don't judge all parks by what Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom and Kings Island serve.

Not only that but many go to parks and never ride anything. Shows at places like Dollywood, Fiesta Texas, Busch Gardens, Seaworld, etc., for one thing. Others go to enjoy the atmosphere, to play games (yes, they do), and for other social aspects.

Rest assured, YOU may go primarily for the rides, but many, many people do not.

Yep. See my PTR from Dollywood last weekend! Cory and I arrived at Dollywood at 9:15am and didn`t ride our first ride (Tennessee Tornado) until around 3 or 3:15 because we were watching shows all day! And Dollywood positioned one of their food stands right on either side of about a twelve foot wide path, so that you have to walk by it to get to certain areas of the park. The smells from that place are enough to make anyone want to stop right there and buy some food! It truly is delicious smelling!

Now don't get me wrong, the food certainly isn't bad at the park (I've had far worse at some other parks), and as far as Cedar Fair goes the variety is excellent. Its just so disappointing to pay high prices for food and drinks when the quality doesn't always justify a high price. Last season I ordered fries at the park and the employee working there actually stopped and asked "Are you sure you still want it?" after she told me the price.

I've often wondered how near minimum wage employees feel collecting $15 parking fee after $15 parking fee at many Six Flags (and even more at some), or the very high food prices in many parks. It's got to be very demoralizing.

Yeah, most people have hit on the key things. The only things I'll mention is this, first, definitely ride Time Warp if you've never been on a Zamperla flyer...as someone who's NOT a credit'or (hence, still never been on any Skull Mountain), it's worth the experience!

Also, I thought the food prices and options were good inside the park! There was this hot dog stand on the right side of their I-street just in front of the mountain where I got a giant (more than one foot) corn dog, fries, and drink for all under $10! AND it was pretty good!! The Pizza Pizza place in the strip mall across from CW was a lot more expensive (but the McDonald's on Major Mac is cheaper).

Someone in line for Top Gun (their hang 'n bang) told us about some donut holes they claimed CW was famous for, and my g/f got them and thought they were really good! They had powered sugar on them, and I thought they were ok.

Also, getting back to rides, I thought Dragon Fire (their Arrow sit-down) was really rough. I take it you're going to CW after D-back opens? If so, I'd love to see how you think B-moth compares after riding D-back first!

Lastly, the two biggest Canadian gems for me are the candy you can't get in the States, like the Bounty bar!! Also, getting Nestle water still bottled in Aberfoyle! Plus, the caffeine Tylenol was interesting too.

So are you saying CW has better food and better prices for their food than KI? Also, is CW similar to KI at all?

^^Very similar...except a mountain instead of Eiffel Tower. However, Kings Dominion is even more similar.

I agree. Hey skaterboy, can you bring me back some Smarties? Not the fruit(?) flavored things sold in the US and given away a lot at Halloween, but these: http://www.smarties.co.uk/home/, basically Nestle's version of M&M's. Very yummy! Or I'll accept Coffee Crisp too!

Smarties are my favorite candy, and I have loved eating them since I was in grade school. On any given day, I will eat a couple packs of those, whenever I get the munchies. However, this year (just like last year and the year before) I have given up Smarties for lent. Less than a week and I can eat them again!
