The Interpreter
BAINBRIDGE Anyone who has been yearning for their own personal Space Needle should mark their calendars for 10:30 a.m. June 17 and 18. That's when Norton Auctioneers of Coldwater, Mich., will sell roller coasters, rides and other memorabilia from the former Geauga Lake amusement park. The most notable item on the inventory list is the Big Dipper, a 1925 wooden coaster designed by John Miller. Before the park closed in September, the Big Dipper was the oldest wooden coaster operating in Ohio. The Big Dipper will be offered for sale unless it has been sold to another buyer by the auction dates.... http://www.cleveland.com/solonsun/news/ind....xml&coll=
IBEW_Sparky
I hate to say this, but someone on the Editorial staff at that newspaper goofed big time when they ran this article. If you read it closely, you will note that it is the same article that was run in the newspaper LAST year about the auction. As evidence of this, I will point to a statement written near the end of the article that states 'Cedar Fair closed the park last September' which correlates to September of 2007. The Interpreter
I believe you are correct! It also mentions rides that have already been sold AND removed. Great catch!
tigellinus
^^I was waiting for Terpy to start his lecture (of which I am an attentive pupil, btw!) on the low editorial grade of published articles nowadays!
