Diamond Back....By the numbers

Featured Replies

Nothing scientific here.

Here are a couple of numbers found out today:

If you are in line from the very point UNDER the DB sign until you get in the station = 1 hour. The line just never stops!

Dispatch time from when one train left the station until the next train left = I timed ALOT of these and the fastest one was 1:30 seconds!

Entire ride time, from the second it leaves the station to the time it gets back STOPPED in the station: 4:06 (this is a high average, this was done on a sort of stacked set)

Ride time. Timed from when one train leaves station until it stops on the brakes after the splashdown = 2 mins on the dot.

Lift time = 45 seconds

Ride time = After lift to the brakes after the spashdown = 1:15 seconds

This is what happens when your bored with a cell phone while waiting in line. Anyone have anything else to add?

Bill

I think I might have seen you yesterday I just don't remember where. Were you in line for Beast around 11:30? Or after?

I find it strange how they call it a 3 minute ride, when techniqually it is only 2 minutes (1 minute and 15 seconds not counting the lift hill)

The only slow-down the crew had all day was the slightly oversized riders that had some difficulties locking their restraint. The crew really tried hard to get everyone on, but it's time consuming. Other than that, DBack is a capacity monster.

^No worries! I hope I didn't come off as saying that those people were holding up the line and they should just get out. I'm glad they're putting forth the effort to get as many people to ride as possible.

No, no. I didn't take it like that. :)

I'm glad as well. Without that effort I know I wouldn't have been smiling on my drive home last night.

Yes Cory was the man of the hour Saturday night!!

I will add a tidbit to your numbers ZosoBeast the numbers in the station for the attendant to assign guests to, is odd number row is for the seats that are close together while the even number row is for the seats that are separated and sit further out closest to the edge of the train. When I reached the row assigner I politley ask for a even number row. They obliged each time. The Crew on Diamondback is awesome.

Thanks Jesse! I am glad you enjoyed your experiences on Saturday, it was a great day!

The members of the Diamondback crew are all top-notch people, and great associates, they will be providing a great experience all summer long!

Bill,

Thanks for taking the time (no pun intended) to do this...the facts are interesting.

I didn't envy the Dback crew at all saturday. But you guys were great.

I must admit that I was a little worried when I read about the three minute ride time. I feared that they would trim it to death in order to make it take that long. I'm very relieved and happy that they did not!!!

Kat and I got in line back by Central Grill and were in the loading station an hour later, even with a full queue.

I love how the KIC members/ride ops were assigning seats until I was next, then told me to sit wherever I liked. Or they'd just point me toward the very back of the train with a knowing smile on their face. :D
