JasonsBanshee
I haven't been to KI since Cedar Fair bought it. Back when Paramount owned it they would always check for buttons, grommets or anything else on your shorts before they would let you ride the water slides in the water park. Does Cedar Fair still do this? I find it really hard to find board shorts without the grommets and if they changed that rule then I won't have to buy new shorts. Thanks guys! trevor75
call the park and find out, but really just get some swimming trunks and spring for a locker if you are going to use the water park!
violakat03
Pretty much all water parks have this rule. It's to prevent scratching the finish on the water slides. And yes, it's incredibly difficult to find shorts without grommets. You can cut the grommets out and make a pair of shorts your dedicated water park shorts. The water park also sells grommet-less shorts, though I don't know what kind of prices they are anymore. When I worked there (6 years ago), they were actually about the same price you'd find outside the park. Last year I had grommets on the front of my shorts but not the back (I wear a pair of nylon shorts over my swim suit) and they let me on the slides, but that was probably because they were being nice rather than they were actually supposed to.
Gabe
They still do check for metal grommets on your swimsuits, which isn't an issue so much for the ladies as it is for the guys. You can find suits with no grommets just about everyehere. Failing that, just put a small piece of duct tale over your grommets before entering the water park and that will suffice. rotag
that gives me an idea for a swimsuit covered in nothing but diferent colored duct tape
XGatorHead 8904
This is always a prerequisite for me when I buy new swim trunks... no metal! Sometime's they're hard to find, but I manage.
Wonderland
I have swim suits with metal and nobody seems to care, then again it is usually colored metal so it tends to look like plastic.

AintNutinElse2Do
^ First time you get a big scratch down your back as I have, you'll understand why even if they let you go down the slide with them. You shouldn't.
The Interpreter
I have swim suits with metal and nobody seems to care, then again it is usually colored metal so it tends to look like plastic. If you respect the park, you won't wear metal grommets on slides. It damages the slide, and causes the park totally unnecessary maintenance. Also, as has been mentioned, it can even cause you to get hurt. It's not a good idea to sneak onto slides wearing metal grommets in violation of park rules. I suppose it is even possible that if they caught you, they could hold you financially responsible for any damage you cause and/or even prosecute you under the Ohio Rider Responsibility Law or other applicable laws if you are in another park. The Interpreter
Easy...should you slide to one side or the other...it's been known to happen. And rules are there for a reason, not just because the park likes to make them.

jbum123
Last season was my first trip to Soak City and i had no clue about the no metal grommets rule. The lady just had me roll them up to cover them and then let me go down the slide.
