I am not a ride warrior

I really wanted to attend this party, but alas, couldn't pull it off.

I want to be a ride a warrior, but I am not.

We started pounding out kids quite a few years ago, the biggest "new" ride we went on was Top Gun.

Once the kids came along, we were limited to what we could ride.

We take the kids there every year, but we have to switch off with the little ones, and take turns riding the rides that our oldest can get the nerve up to ride.

We were looking forward to RWW as a chance for the two of us to go ride the good stuff, but the guilt wouldn't let us.

Our kids were really upset when they found out we were going without them! Brats!!!!

So the list of rides that I have never got to ride remains large, and I am itching to ride them all!

I have never riden:

Drop Tower

Delerium

Invertigo

Crypt

Slingshot/Skyflyer

Now, Diamondback.

I have rode SOB, but that was during a trip with other adults that watched the kids for us while we rode. At least I got to ride that one with the loop.

The last week of July is the first "sure thing" for a visit. We will be there for 3 days, so I am calling out to all of the real "Ride Warriors" to be at the park, and give me a ride partner so I can go on some of these rides!

Except Delerium, I will lose my lunch on that, no doubt about it. I want to ride everything else though.

I will more than likely be able to go anytime in July, and will happily be your ride partner :D

And with the Delirium thing, I took at least one person on their first ride on it Sunday and she seemed to enjoy it, although i'm not sure i'll ever regain feeling in my hand... You should at least give it a shot though, it's no big deal if you lose your lunch and have to take it easy for awhile. A certain member of our group tossed his cookies on Runaway Reptar and we still love him!

One of the funniest posts I have read in awhile, yet I can sympathize with you. Riding has become more dificult with the little one yet we still have our sights set on KI, SDC and CP this year, with a few other parks worked in along the way.

Tomkatt, we may be aboe to help each other out here. In addition to the rides you have not ridden, I have not ridden Flight of Fear and Firehawk. The reason is also young kids. Although my oldest is now tall enough to ride all the rides at KI - whether she is willing is another story.

Don't worry, soon they will be old enough to be your ride buddy. My 12 year old daughters favorite is now DB and she too loves the SRL. This if the first year that my 10 year old is riding real coasters. We started her off with Flight Deck, Adventure Express, Racer and Backlot Stunt Coaster. On our second trip she added Drop Tower and The Beast. Next trip she says she will do DB. She says that she does not like inversions, so I am not pushing those YET. I want to get her on FOF so that when we go back to WDW in Sept she will be willing to ride Rock'n Roller Coaster.

We will be heading to CP this weekend if the weather cooperates. I told her that she should ride Maggie, Millie and Mav. After those, she should be able to ride anything.

And if your parents or your spouse's parents are around and are willing to babysit, PLEASE let them. Some of my fondest memories are of time spent with my grandmother during opportunities that I at the time thought were made just for me...but now realize my parents were going out, leaving me with my beloved grandmother and getting away from me! :)

If you have a basement, turn off the lights and fall down the stairs. That is about how exciting it is to ride The Crypt. I've always hated that ride. Complete waste of time!

I just couldn't seem to find the right words to describe my feelings on The Crypt. I think this pretty much sums it up!

Yes great advice is using the grandparents, but also travel with your children. My wife and I love taking quick weekend trips and we were always gone before the little one was born. We made a promise to continue to take these trips once she was born and we have done a fairly good job of it. She has been many places with us and she is not even 2 years old yet. Here is a quick rundown of her trips with us. Kings Island at 2weeks, Indianapolis for a weekend, Williamsburg, Virginia Beach, Myrtle Beach twice, Niagara Falls, Chicago, and numerous trips to zoos and aquariums. We love traveling now more than ever.

Here are the links to trip reports from our various travels.
