coaster_junky
i do have one request, if they do decide to remove the ride, i want to see it fully constructed without the garage. mainly because i want to see it's true height compared to the other things in rivertown. maverick2007
If Kings Island does decide to take it out I can see it going to a park like Michigan's Adventures. Anyone Else?
KIfan73
^How neat would it be now to have a buildingless Crypt...with Diamondback zooming around it.
MrTools
^ Kings dominon has a tomb raider ride thats out in the open without the garage. Image: http://www.flickr.com/photos/benbengraves/174563339/ Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuSwisRr0EY Here is a video that shows it from a distance (while toumb raider firefall) Notice they keep a temple look to it with the destroyed statues in front. This one may be smaller yes but somthing like this would look great IMO

Anyone Else? i don't, mainly because of the reasons that will have led to it's removal, but then again the did move x-flight to ki.
Skywriter
Well I just got back and yes the Crypt sucks more then ever KI Man was correct the only good thing was that the Demon Bat was working other then that everyone was like wow I waited and hour for this. coaster_junky
and speaking of the door being replaced with a gate reminds me of my first trip to Kings Island last year, i was standing in line for the crypt all exicted about the new program, when the door slid open and then the gondola came swinging by. then the door slid closed, but it was kinda weird. HandsUp
That looks pretty awesome! I'd rather have a top spin like this outside than what the Crypt is now... it'd be sweet to put this over in Coney Mall where the open area is. /quote] And use the old queue line for a bobsled coaster in the woods between DB and The Beast

No getting all excited for this new program you just come in some close encounters with the wall and lava pit which are not used at all. The Interpreter
^How neat would it be now to have a buildingless Crypt...with Diamondback zooming around it. Not going to happen. Ride was designed to operate indoors, protected from the elements....
HTCO
After taking a quick little trip to ki today, I HAD to see how much the new crypt sucked. It lived up to all the expectations.. I think planktons plunge is more fun. Now I really want to see this gone.
Skywriter
I really hope they remove it or just get it to work right. They should had just left it the way it was last Fall.

For much of last fall, that was: CLOSED. Terpy...just sayin'
Skywriter
Well I went the 1st weekend of Haunt and it was working fine what I should had said just keep the same program as last year it was fine.
HTCO
Fine?... yes. Good?... no. Worth a 15 minute? ...no Walk on wait? ...no. It was a mehh ride. Now its a "Why even have it anymore"- random guest getting off the Crypt. Or I should say the claptrap.
The Interpreter
Most Ferris Wheels do not have over-the-shoulder restraints! Then again, if the Ferris Wheel were a new ride invented today, I wonder what type of restraints the manufacturer, insurance companies and regulatory agencies would require! The Interpreter
No seatbelts? What about no orange individually ratcheting lap bars? No seat dividers? No head restraints? And most of all, no hard polyurethane foam?
ZukoGirl
Foam ?
rotag
i meant the rides before the seatbelts. just the lapbar, divider, foam, and headrest. that is what i miss.
The Interpreter
Yes, that stuff under the vinyl is hard polyurethane foam. In days of old, it was soft cushioning, covered by leather. Those days are long gone. No wood coaster in Ohio has soft padding, now that Big Dipper at Geauga Lake is closed. But back to our Crypt topic, already in progress... Skywriter
Well I will have to have a talk with my friend who operates the Crypt to give me a bit of info into why they changed the ride.
skaterboy22101
Let me take a shot at this..You can't talk about it?
The Interpreter
I doubt seriously he is privy to that information. Ride operators are frequently not given the information as to why certain ride changes are made, as that information is considered proprietary...if you have a need to know it, you get to know. Why a ride operator would need to know why a ride's program changed is beyond me...
HTCO
The operator asks if we ride it a lot, and said we'll be in for a surprise becuase they changed the program. They toned it down. She said it only does two flips, because, well...the ride's been tearing itself apart (Who didn't know that one). If this operator is correct, then this is the reason. And it seems likely.
