The Interpreter
...Parking — yes, just parking — at Cowboys Stadium for a major event will cost $40. At least the walk is less than a mile, shorter than the trudging hike at Texas Stadium.... Parking costs $40 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, for example. It's still only $20-$25 at most stadiums and arenas, including the American Airlines Center.College football Web sites warn that parking for games in Arlington this season will cost from $30 to $40, including Sept. 5 for the Oklahoma-Brigham Young game and Jan. 2 for the AT&T Cotton Bowl. ... http://www.star-telegram.com/news/columnis...ry/1415994.html
RailRider
Wow and I complain when I pay $10 for parking at a Reds game. The product on the field does not justify the price for the lot...
CoastersRZ
That is certainly very pricey just to park a car for a few hours. It sure makes paying $15 to park at some amusement parks ALL day sound like a bargain!
specialk141
who cares? its only $10 here in cincy... i usually dont pay to park anyway. if you don't mind walking, there is always street space available!
Hoeter
Thanks for sharing that information with us Terpy. I can't believe that parking at the Staples Center in Los Angeles is $40. Then again, the Lakers play there. You'd think with the economy in the toilet, they'd be giving people a break from these high prices. Brandon
Let's see how this goes for them, it's like the Yankees ticket prices all over again.
SOB_TOM
Just keep in mind that Cincinnati was also ranked "One of the cheapest places to live," which means in Cincinnati, prices are lower than everywhere else. But in the same idea, our salaries are also reflected in this as well.
The Interpreter
who cares? its only $10 here in cincy... i usually dont pay to park anyway. if you don't mind walking, there is always street space available! Who cares? We all should. Parks, stadiums, etc., look at other markets to see what is tolerated. From season passes to parking fees, "best practices" are benchmarked...and revenue optimization is one thing a lot of operators see as a best practice. Kings Island never charged $10 to park until after Six Flags was successfully charging $15 in much of the country.
KIfan1980
Also, if you want to park anywhere close to Paul Brown Stadium for Bengals games (if you want to go at all), you'll be shelling out $30-36. MLB games are a different story than NFL games.
Dalefan
Well, The Cowboys have to pay for that big screen they built some how. Lol. Its as big as the field, took a year to build and if the price is true, it cost 400 million from what the news here said.
BavarianBeatle
But the market will tolerate what it tolerates.... It's supply and demand. If they fill those lots at $40 a space, then it's just capitalism, a part of living in a free society.
