Sumner Redstone controls the company, along with Viacom. No doubt National Amusements, which technically controls it, had something to do with it! :)

The sale of the parks generated $1.4B...CBS's debt is over $7B.

Uh, Cedar Fair paid $1.24 billion, unless I missed something...your figure was off only by $160 million...even rounding errors become huge when you are talking about this much money!

Yeah...I mis-typed (that happens to me a lot on the iPhone... :) ) Of course, I meant $1.24B--I've repeated that figure on this board enough times over the years that I think you know that I know exactly how much CF (over) spent ;)
