The Interpreter
And yes, it is an attraction: ...Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP designed The Ledge, a year-and-a-half-long project. Determining how to suspend boxes from the top of the tower was a challenge, project manager Lou Cerny said. Then there was Chicago's harsh winds, which wouldn't allow workers at times to assemble the boxes now suspended by 30-pound steel beams from inside the tower. Cerny had advice for the fearful: just take the first step in. And, of course, come back for more. "You do it for the 10th time and you don't even think about it anymore," Cerny said. http://www.bostonherald.com/news/national/...position=recent
KIBeast
No thanks on looking down from the Sears Tower. I have a fear of heights. It doesn't bother me on coasters, but to look over the edge of a building or something like that just terrifies me. I am more afraid of ferris wheels and skyline type rides. DropZone99
Well I won't be going to Willis Tower, I'll be going to John Han**** Tower since it's free. I'm going to Chicago Saturday.
Go Browns
Looks pretty sweet, I would definitely check that out if I wasn't busy over at Wrigley. Kind of reminds me of the glass floor on the CN Tower (~1800 ft) in Toronto. Here are some more pics of the new Sears Tower ledge thingy. Jasper
This reminds me of the Grand Canyon skywalk thing. That girls is mighty popular to be featured on two huge news websites. Does anyone have any pictures looking down on the balcony or can the not reveal these until it opens to the public.
Diamondback FOF
Why does the CN Tower look as if it curves in the pictures looking straight down (Go Browns posted the link)?
vortexfan
Why does the CN Tower look as if it curves in the pictures looking straight down (Go Browns posted the link)? The tower itself does curve inward a bit if you look closely. It is very noticeable if you are viewing it from the top or bottom: http://5thraven.deviantart.com/art/040527-CN-Tower-74908073 Not sure where you saw the CN Tower in the link posted by Go Browns though.... Oh, that's cool that the building DOES actually curve. I thought it was an illusion. Brandon
Yea it does remind me of the glass floor at the CN Tower. I love the glass floor up there. It's such a cool experience. I wouldn't do it if you're afraid of heights though.

I was actually down at the museum campus sunday for the first time in a couple of years. But we are too cheap to pay to go up the tower. I will have to wait until I can go up for free; you know Chicago "connections"
