July 14, 200917 yr You're better off asking Human Resources, since they coordinate the applications, hiring, etc. And while I was looking at the park's website, I happened across this: http://www.visitkingsisland.com/jobs/jobs_....cfm?emp_id=546. Apparently applications are already being accepted for scaracters.
July 14, 200917 yr So should I ask guest realtions? Yes. If you have any questions regarding employment or any other thing to do with the park (hours, admission, etc.), you should always call the park at: (800) 288-0808 (that is guest relations) . Edit: Gator beat me to it. That webpage says to call them (I guess Human Relations?) at 513-754-5748.
July 15, 200917 yr ^The Human Resources office, which is located to the right of the front gate. If you're in the parking lot and looking towards the park, to the right of the front gate area is a security gate/employee's entrance and just to the right of that is Human Resources, kind of near the VIP and associate parking areas. And rotag, about your "From" comment under your avatar... what exactly does that mean? You're making me self-conscious! Gator, suddenly wondering if I swagger whenever I'm at the park!
July 15, 200917 yr Do you think i would be able to work this year i will be 14 in september or do I have to be 15? to work the haunt you will have to be 16 you can be 15 to work the haunt. its posted ont he big marker board in HR at the employee entrance YAY!! i love this time of year... *swoon* i recommend going now if you want to be in Club Blood or only in one attraction.... if you have a preference you best get in there right away *Stalker, who you will only see being a roamer (if i have my way *cough*Danehelpmeoutwiththis*cough* ) or doing makeup and filling in where needed. I don't know if i could handle my ambulance this year... i'm getting old
July 15, 200917 yr Yeah, seeing a 15-year-old work the Haunt is like seeing a pig fly. Considering the very strict hours they have for minors in the summer alone (they can only work til 8), it's almost a guarantee 15-year-olds can't work for an event that ends at one in the morning, even if it is on a Friday night. But on a lighter note, it's good to hear that a new maze is arriving for this year. I'm willing to bet Nick Theater/Putz HQ is the location for it after the kids' Halloween event (and the Cowpie show originally in Nick Theater) was moved over to the Grove. But I really hope CarnEVIL is the one that leaves or is replaced; that is without a doubt the worst one of the lot and hasn't received any TLC since its inception back in '01.
July 15, 200917 yr I might try and do day shifts where I'm at now and night shifts in the Haunt. I know people who did that last year. It looks like it would be very very fun.

O.o someone must have skipped the scare zones..... that and if you take into account how many ppl are ACTUALLY scared of clowns... this ones stupendous! or at least at wall of monsters it is
July 15, 200917 yr I thought Carnevil was my favorite! I hate clowns and the clwns makeup and stuff with the 3D glasses made it cool. The room with the dots where the guys were like invisible against the walls was also cool. The scariest part to me was the evil looking clowns whether it was just pictures our actual people in maks they scared me. I thought it was pretty fun. My least favorite was the one where you had to ride the train back to get in line (don't remember the name). It was very obvious where everyone was hiding (behind the crates right in the view of the guest) and wasn't very scary.
July 15, 200917 yr ^ Yeah, I thought the train haunt was pretty lame. There were very few people getting the surprise scare. When will people learn that saying "scary" things to people isn't the least bit scary? I wouldn't mind working during Haunt this year, but not as a scareactor. I've worked at haunted trails for over 5 years and from what I've seen, KI's Haunt is a little too structured for my taste. I like having a strong say in where I go and what I do.

Gator, suddenly wondering if I swagger whenever I'm at the park! thanks for the info... ...to me a swagger is a nonshilant{sp?} walk kinda like a meandering stream. rotag, dropping a hint about how he came up with his name.
July 15, 200917 yr ^Oh... I get it now... I just had to read your name a different way. Gator, realizing that there are now two gators on here... me, and a mirror image. Does that make you my evil twin? Or am I the evil twin?
July 15, 200917 yr Gator, realizing that there are now two gators on here... me, and a mirror image. Does that make you my evil twin? Or am I the evil twin? do you really want me to answer that O:) oh and btw... called the park today to have them change my app from summer work to haunt and uncle henry turned his in today! YAY!!! *goes to find a countdown for Haunt*
July 15, 200917 yr I love Haunted stuff... ya know.. HTCO(haunted trail co owner...). Ive done a Haunted trail for three years now, and I REALLY want to work at land of illusion. But, I have this show.. grrr.

I'll wait a little while longer.
July 15, 200917 yr Seriously considering putting in an application for this. Can anyone who has worked haunt previously tell me what the typical hours are to work? Also is it just minimum wage or a little better because of the hours. Just curious. Thanks

It was very obvious where everyone was hiding (behind the crates right in the view of the guest) and wasn't very scary. I believe it was called Tombstone TERRORtorry. Yeah, I found it very unscaryy. However, my niece found it quite frightening and was crying by the time we got through the entire 'maze'.

July 16, 200917 yr I'm 17 and was wondering whats the odds of the park hiring me and haunt is my favorite time of year and would love to be a roamer do you think this is possible.
July 16, 200917 yr I'm 17 and was wondering whats the odds of the park hiring me and haunt is my favorite time of year and would love to be a roamer do you think this is possible. Your odds are very good they are looking for people 16 and up. Just put your application in on line.
July 16, 200917 yr If I receive an interview, What kind of questions will they ask? My freind worked last year he said that they made you do your best scream and your best prowl around.
July 16, 200917 yr Is this the same as filling out the large application? http://www.visitkingsisland.com/rsvp/rsvp_form.cfm
July 16, 200917 yr I am just filling out the information but it asks for choices for the haunt. What are all of the Choices? Scareactor, Roamer .....? anything else?
July 16, 200917 yr For those of you that worked FearFest last year or in years past, what was the hourly wage? If you don't want to say exactly or can't remember, just give an appoximate. Also, did you get a say in how many hours you worked, or did you work from 7 pm until 1 am? Thanks!
