I want to buy a season pass for next season. Going to KI only once a year is not working for me anymore. I also want to go to CP again and go to MA, CW, and possibly KD and CW.

So should I get the platinum pass? Or should I get a gold pass?

If you plan on going to any of those CF parks, a platinum pass is the way to go since they're also valid at other CF parks, whereas a gold pass is not.

And if the deal next year is the same as this (and it may or may not be), parking is also included with the Platinum Pass, at all Cedar Fair parks....

We have gotten good use out of our Platinum Passes. KI-5, CP-4, CanW-2, KD-1 and we still have trips planned for DP & CarW.

The real questions is what do your folks think? Are they ready for a year of the Coaster?

It would be a total waste to get the PP is you only end up going ot KI.

you can upgrade from gold to platinum, but you must realize that you have to make another trip back to the park you bought it from (Kings Island) to do the said upgrade. you cant just get to the other park and upgrade it then...
