The Bat website

I highly doubt that PKI will bring back The Bat theming. There are so many other good themes to use, and reusing The Bat, especially when the only people who remember The Bat are enthusiast and a small group of 30-something adults, would be pointless. The park would be getting so many questions, "Why isnt it just The Bat, why The Bat Returns?" So, in conclusion, dont count on the park reusing themes from 20 years ago.

I highly doubt that "if" we get a new coaster next year (and thats a huge IF), that it will be themed around The Bat or King Cobra or whatever. But according to Craig Ross, we are not in the coaster race so I highly doubt a new coaster is in our future anytime soon. I kind of hope we dont get a new coaster, like somebody said before, I hope we get HB expansions and flat rides for the next 10 years!

Just because we are not in the coaster race does not mean will not get a coaster. It is pretty much expected now from the surveys that 2005 will be the year of the coaster. Not being in the coaster race only means we aren't trying to beat anyone else with our coaster amounts or abilities.

If only 30 somethings and enthusiasts know about The Bat, then how do you explain the younger generation knowing of it? Because of sites like these. Now you have pics posted and the history of the ride posted.(not here). Also, there is not enough flat rides to choose from out there to fill the next ten years. The kids' area doesn't really need any work either.

No,no, no, re-read the post. I will put this in caps, so read real carefully. I quote myslef, " ESPECIALLY WHEN THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO REMEMBER The Bat ARE ENTHUSIAST AND A SMALL GROUP OF 30-SOMETHING ADULTS"

Now, read that 3-4 times, and you can clearly see that I was saying that enthusiasts know about it due to the websites, and 30-something (agewise if you have never heard that phrase) adults know it because they rode it. Any other questions that I can answer because people dont read posts?

A Bat themed coaster won't be coming to PKI. Like said before, there are too many other themeing possibilities that would draw more attention from guests. The Bat was a ride built pre-Paramount ownership, so chances of them bringing it back are about zero. This rumor has been around for a LOOONG time, and I seriously doubt it's going to happen now.

And there are enough flat rides supply PKI for the next ten years. Heck, there are so many different flat rides on the market that Paramount's Kings Island could add two each year for the next decade and still have plenty left over to chose from for another ten years.

a bat-themed b&m invert...hmm...i seem to like this idea. however, like many have said before, the only group of people who would understand the whole "The Bat returns" idea are those in their 30s and coaster freaks (like us...not as an offensive label). i have to admit...it would be sweet. 230 ft tall...5000 ft long...a few inversions...use the forest terrain well; and now you have one of the world's best inverts.

despite how cool it'd be...its not going to happen.

why is there so many negative comments about getting a new coaster for 05. That PKI is not in the coaster wars anymore. That a new coaster is NOT going to happen. It seems to me that MANY people would like a new coaster in 05. I think that adding a variety of different ride experiences is important. we have the new water park expansion for 2004, delerium and TRTR in 03 and 02, and SCOOBY in 03. It seems to me the next logical step for expansion would be a new coaster. I know that PKI is a family park and that is why i like it so much. but families ride coasters too.

I'll just state again....straight from Craig Ross's mouth earlier this year...

"Kings Island is not in the coaster race, like a certain neighbor to the north"

(or at least close to those exact words)

I'm not saying that we won't get one, I'm pretty darn sure we are getting a coaster in 2005, but that is over a year away.

This thread was about The Bat website and I know I just responded to something that was not Bat related.... so closed.
