HTCO Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Is anyone signed up for the Run Kings Island event this sunday? I am signed up for the Diamondback 5K. Quote
G-Force Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I was going to but now that XC has officially started I can't, oh well have fun! Quote
HTCO Posted August 11, 2009 Author Posted August 11, 2009 You can't do it? My XC team just started and I still can. Quote
davidc78 Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 I'm doing the 10K with my sister in-law. Driving down from Indy on Saturday. Can't wait! Quote
Justin_M17 Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Rachel and I were considering walking the 5k, but I doubt we're going to wind up doing it though. But good luck to you, HTCO, and to anyone else who is running in the 5k/10k. Quote
Tom76257 Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 I'm in the 5K, but I haven't trained worth a darn. Quote
HTCO Posted August 12, 2009 Author Posted August 12, 2009 Gah. Neither have I. Iv'e only been running 2 miles a day. I'm going to die sunday. Quote
rotag Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 if i was participating. i should learn to walk first, lol {refering to stricker's incedent} Quote
Beast1979 Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 I'm doing the 10K, simply because it has the most interesting route. I'll be walking almost the entire thing, so I'm not going to be training a ton. Quote
mtl2013 Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 I'm in the 5K, but I haven't trained worth a darn. Gah. Neither have I. Iv'e only been running 2 miles a day. I'm going to die sunday. Haha yeah as HTCO said I will be running with him in the 5k on sunday(well....like a mile behind him...haha). But, I havnt trained really at all. I have started running around my neighborhood's lake which is like 2 - 2.5 miles around....so yeah Quote
Beast1979 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Alright, after walking a distance similar to what a 10K would be like, I have changed my mind, and I will be walking the 5K on Sunday. Anyone else doing it? Quote
mtl2013 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 ^ wait. Didnt u have to sign up for a specific race??? i thought so... because i did. but, maybe its different for the walkers.....idk...haha. Quote
StalkerChick Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I really wish there was a day of registration I won't know til Saturday afternoon if I can even go since i'm playing in the MDA softball tourney for Jerry's Kids all this week/weekend. and it all depends on the bracket but i did plan on walking the 5k... we'll see. and for those wondering 5k=3.1 miles, and 10k=6.2 miles lol Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 And here I thought 10k was 200,000 nickels! Quote
Justin_M17 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 And here I thought 10k was 200,000 nickels! That's the kind of 10K I wouldn't mind Quote
HTCO Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 Beast1979 if you signed up for The Beast 10K I'm almost certian you can not switch. Unless you pay 30 more bucks for the Diamondback 5K. I would just walk it. I'm pretty sure you can do it. Considering I run about 8 every practice, I think you could walk about 6.2. Quote
Beast1979 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Well we haven't registered yet. Now looking at the route for the 5K I'm on the fence here. 10K is harder but it has the best route. 5K's route is rather uninteresting. Quote
G-Force Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 If you're walking, I'd do the 10k for sure. The 5k looks to be almost half in the parking lot, which is rather boring. Quote
mtl2013 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 well, yeah if i was gonna do the best route, its definately the 10k, but im going to try and run or at least jog the entire thing.....soo...the 5k is a better call for me. Quote
Aaron88stang Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I was planning on going Sunday. Will the Run really increase the crowd? Quote
davidc78 Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Last I checked, there were about 800 people on the registration lists, but that may not be up to date. Quote
HTCO Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 ^ Its not up to date. I had to call the lady that took care of our check, because we saw the check went through and my name wasn't on that list. She said they have had so many people sign up they don't have time to update the list. Quote
mtl2013 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 ^haha im excited too! i liked all the stuff that I got. Haha but the race will not really effect the crowd at the park, considering the 5k is at 7:15, the 10k is at 7:00, and the golden ticket run thingy is sometime around those, ahha Quote
Diamondback FOF Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 You didn"t stay at KI for a while? Quote
