Gordon Bombay
Been busy as hell, forgot to post this. The photographs have been up on my personal website, www.queencitydisco.com, for some time, but I figured I'd post them on here since they're kind of relevant. Anyways, this certainly has not been the best summer and as compared to last year it certainly pales in comparison. Feeling kind of crummy and wanting to get away, I decided to take a trip to Strickers Grove on it's most recent open to the public day. Unfortunately, I had to work then met my family for dinner. The park was only open till 9 and the sun was going down. I left my house at 8, fully intent on paying whatever price needed to get into strickers grove just to shoot some photos. A closed bridge and nasty detour stalled my 15 minute back road drive and made me get there at 8:35. I strolled up to the gate, with a 20 in my hand. Seeing my camera, the nice lady at the front let me go in. I didn't ride anything, Tornado had a long line, and I just wanted to make some quick photographs. These are the two I came back happy with: I left the park just as it was getting dark and drove back home. While I was at Stricker's I saw some old friends and shook some hands with folks I don't see much anymore. That was nice. A couple days later I was driving down I-275 and started passing some trucks carrying carnival rides. I wondered which local church festival they were going to wind up at. Later that night I was driving home from an event that had put me in a horrible mood. Upset and tired, there appeared something in the distance...a mirage almost...this awesome random carnival set up in the parking lot of the pseudo abandoned Cincinnati Mall. It was too late to go that night but I vowed I would go the next day after work: Like Strickers, I had gotten there late. The carnival was closing soon. I really wanted to ride the ferris wheel. I ran into my friend Brian Neal of ACE and another friend and offered to buy tickets for us to ride right before it closed. 15 dollars and 7 minutes later we had a great ferris wheel ride. This random carnival was certainly a nice surprise. For more photographs check out Queen City Discovery: http://queencitydiscovery.blogspot.com/200...-summer-in.html Thanks for checking em out. Tomkatt7
I have always liked those types of photo's. I usually see them with the skyline, or moving water. It is a really good shot. I wish I had an eye for that type of thing. We love photography, but I don't seem to have the talent to see things in their artist capacity. Gordon Bombay
I don't seem to have the talent to see things in their artist capacity. I don't know about that, I seem to recall a photography by your family recently in one of your trip reports that was pretty good: http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk52/to.../Picture185.jpg

gigacoaster2k
Ronny, I always enjoy seeing your photographs. They have a depth in them that captures something a lot of photographers miss. If I ever need professional photographs done, you will be the first person I talk to.. yes, I'm serious.
