Kings Island in denial over Planet Snoopy?

According to Screamscape Kings Island is in denial over Planet Snoopy, but there really aren't any details of what they have said

Ok, I have to comment:

Since when did Screamscape become the all-knowing, always right place? Last time I checked, SC was a rumor mill, some things becoming true, others becoming, well, rumors. Instead of trying to belittle the park with questions about rumors, why don't we wait until a press release is brought forward before leaping to conclusions?

That being said, it would stand to REASON that this would happen, but again, nothing has been released from the park to tell us. Until then, why are we treating this like fact? *Not through this thread, but through threads in other locations.*

Never said that they are the know-all, but it was interesting that they said they are in denial, that would indicate Kings Island must have said something about it, but they didn's say what, I was just wandering what they might have said, but perhaps screamscape is assuming that taking down the page quickly means they are in denial, I don't know

Wouldn't you, as a business, not want to release information about something upcoming? Think about it: It keeps people talking about the park, keeps people guessing, and when you do release said information, it will stir up more profit.

Much like other announcements, while the information may be known by the media and selected other people, there is a park-imposed gag order until a certain date..could be for any number of reasons..I'm guessing each park has a different time frame for said gag order, so when the KI window is up, you will see the info back on the website.

The world's most popular beagle, Snoopy, will have a new home at Kings Island, beginning in 2010.

Planet Snoopy will be located in Kings Island's "Best Kids' Area in the World" section (Amusement Today Golden Ticket award 2001 through 2008) and will boast an elaborate collection of Peanuts-themed rides and attractions for every age, including more kids' roller coasters (four) than any other park in the world. Planet Snoopy will also feature a live stage show and daily meet and greet opportunities with the Peanuts characters such as Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy and Linus.

Fall 2009 marks the kick off to the 60th anniversary of Peanuts. Since its inception on October 2, 1950, Peanuts now appears in over 2,200 newpapers, on iTunes, through wireless and online channels, in 75 countries, and in 25 languages around the world. Peanuts animated television specials, including "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charle Brown," won or were nominated for Emmy Awards.

"Peanuts are an international icon," Kings Island's vice president and general manager Greg Scheid said. "Snoopy and his pals like Charlie Brown, Lucy and Linus are instantly recognizable among children and adults alike. We look forward to the Peanuts Gang becoming part of the world-class thrills, fun and family entertainment for our guests."

Planet Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang will replace Nickelodeon Universe and Scooby-Doo.

Dan managed to capture this from the official Kings Island website on the 28th.

Well said Tom!

People are believeing it because they posted a link to a page on KI's official page announcing Planet Snoopy. It was then removed from the KI site. It looked like someone accidentally published the page before the public was supposed to see it.

Edit: Ringmaster beat me to it and out did me by posting the page too

I think I mentioned this in another thread, but Cedar Point did the same thing they had a page announcing the new attraction Planet Snoopy a couple years ago show up on the CP site before it was announced and immediately taken down, screamscape had a captured picture of it - same thing happening here, ironic that both times it involved Planet Snoopy

I don't know that it's irony then. I could see mistakingly posting a page once but making the exact same mistake twice. Seems like well calculated marketing to me.

I saw that. Woohoo! They don't really give credit though. Got no e-mail or nothin'.

well, maybe that's a good thing, we wouldn't want the Kings Island security to surround your house and arrest you.

They're bound to get one thing right eventually when you post everything you can rumor wise.

Tom- who just found out his T key on his keyboard is broken, and is not too happy about it.....

I've actually found ScreamScape to get more correct than wrong... Yeah, most everything posted on there is sent-in by regular people, including those who either know nothing or just get a kick out of sharing false information, but Lance probably takes a note of these individuals and doesn't take anything they have to say seriously.

It seems to be working...or how did you get those t's in your post?

One side of the T button worked fine, the other would not go down at all.

Turned out there was a piece of dirt stuck underneath it, and it finally worked itself out.

Plus he always says a user sent this in or rumor or confirmed. It seems like he tries to post anything legit, but never claims that it's true unless it is.

Screamscape IS just a rumor site, but I know for a fact that parks "leak" info to him to help keep interest buzzing. I've seen it firsthand.

But a word of caution about Screamscape... things get "altered" over time. As more accurate clues and rumors get posted, past updates get "edited." That way when latter rumors proove to be true, the initial false ones he posted are gone, and he can say "I told you so."

I love Screamscape, read it all the time. But the "told you so's" irritate me.

I think back in the day Screamscape used to be a terrible site for accurate information and much more of a joke. But now I think it has become much more reliable.

Well I think this proves that Planet Snoopy is true

Does Kings Island have any say in what goes into their park or not. Or is it like Cedar Fair says "Don this is what were going to do to your kids area" and thats finaly?
