Rustbucket
I just heard from my brother who is in Korea that Everland is removing Eagle Fortress, easily the best suspended coaster I have ever been on. I checked the Everland website in both English and Korean and see Eagle Fortress completely removed from the park map. This is really a sad news. After Big Bad Wolf closing announcement, I am really saddened since Eagle Fortress and BBW were quite good. And then there are four....... Ninja, Iron Dragon, Vortex, and Filghtdeck. Guest rcfreak339
Suspended coasters just cost way to much to maintain. It's sad, Suspended coaster are most likely the best type of coaster Arrow made. Oh and give Vampire some love! http://www.rcdb.com/784.htm
Thrill_Biscuit
Maybe the technology will improve, and we'll see a re-emergence of suspended coasters one day. Soon, I hope. Hang on to the ones we have left!
Go Browns
Well we won't likely see another Arrow anything ever again but I think B&M are towing the line rather well as far as inverts are concerned. That being said the only Arrow inverts I ever rode are Top Gun and Iron Dragon and the only B&M inverts I have ridden are Raptor and one of the Batmans. I guess the main difference between the two are Arrows cars sway freely back and forth but B&Ms fixed cars allow for great inversions. Anyway I always hate to see a ride torn down. 74Gibson
I have watched the Eagle Fortress POV countless times and it just looks amazing. I noticed it was SBNO awile ago and I think it's tragic. It looks like such an intense ride and I don't really think we'll se new suspended coasters, the freely swaying ones not inverts. I feel like I'm watching an era slowing die and loosing my opportunity for some great and unique coaster experiences. I've only been on Dragin Iron and Flight Deck (which is great but a bit too short for the walk back to it).
RailRider
S&S has what I would consider the next generation of suspended coaster, but it isn't suspended. Still the design is very interesting and I hear quite a uniqe experience. Tranan
74Gibson
RailRider: I forgot all about those. It does look like quite a unique ride experience. The more I think about it I really don't see anyone building a new traditional suspended coaster. They were a fad like standups, a much more successful one in my opinion but considering the high maintenance costs... I think we may be watching them fade into history. Go Browns
Sorry I've never heard anyone distinguish Inverted coasters and Suspended coasters. I just referred to all of them as inverts. You learn something new everyday
74Gibson
just as I've learned much from you. Awwww it's a warm fuzzy moment p.s. I also wasn't directing that comment at you.
PKIDelirium
Word is Eagle Fortress is getting the "new" Vekoma Suspended Floorless trains like Vampire.
dragsterfan420
I truly hope a new re-designed suspended coaster comes out sometime in the near future. Whatever company might decide to make a newer suspended coaster would not be making a bad investment.
