Diamondback FOF
I knew I had read about the VIP tours during the regular season. So, I just thought I'd let people know that KI is doing tours during Haunt. They run evernight that Haunt does. They are $225 per person (minimum of two guests; maximum of eight). The Halloween Haunt RIP Tour is the best way for your family or group to experience the most immersive horror experience around with complimentary parking, front-of-the line haunted attraction and ride privileges including the massive new Diamondback roller coaster, reserved seating for two “live” shows, Fright Feast all-you-can-eat meal, unlimited soft drinks and RIP Tour credential and lanyard. In 2009, all Halloween Haunt RIP Tours will begin at 7:00pm and last until 1:00am on Fridays and Saturdays and midnight on Thursdays (October 8, 15) and Sundays (October 11 and 18). Halloween Haunt RIP Tours are $225 per person (minimum two guests, maximum eight) and must be reserved in advance. Limited availability. Reservations are welcome daily Monday through Sunday, 9:00am until 5:00pm by calling 800-288-0808. http://kihaunt.blogspot.com/2009/09/all-ac...-rip-tours.html
Guest TombraiderTy
Busch Gardens Tampa offers a Haunt tour during their Howl-O-Scream event which is almost exactly the same thing Kings Island is offering, but for about $100 less. The only differences are: -It's an actual tour group -You only do each haunted house and ride once or twice (but you still manage doing them all in the five-hour time period) -There isn't a buffet included, but you do get unlimited drinks -Instead of a lanyard, you get a souvenir photo I'd much rather do Howl-O-Scream's VIP tour, and not only cause I'll save $100, but those haunted houses are more high quality- when I went in October 2007, I was seriously scared in several of the haunted houses, something that's only managed to happen once at Kings Island. sam2cpa
It almost seems like you can pay $225 to be allowed to be a "line jumper" at the haunted attractions. Yikes! My pockets are not that deep.
CedarPointer
Oh, please, not the whole "IT Z SO UNFAIR THEIR LINE JUMPIN'" thing again...
The Interpreter
It almost seems like you can pay $225 to be allowed to be a "line jumper" at the haunted attractions. Yikes! My pockets are not that deep. Why almost? It is exactly what it is. And in the past, Cedar Fair expressed great contempt for the Flash Pass as it is implemented at the Six Flags parks...even offering Freelane instead at Cedar Point. It's amazing what a little (or a lot) of debt can do to a company. Terpy, just sayin' (and remembering that Kings Dominion had tested a fast pass type system for a fee under Paramount's reign...why do you think those separate lines were built to new attractions...do you really think they were only for walk on days or single rider lines?) I'm glad you weighed in on this subject...I wondered where you stood...the same place as I! I hate to see a "class system" in an amusement park. (I wish the whole world worked like it did when I was in grade school...EVERYONE waits in line for their turn.) (And by the price they are charging, they sure do not have my family in mind!) Diamondback FOF
So do you not like the Fast Pass system at Disney? I think it is fair as it's available to everybody and it's free.
standbyme
^Yes I like it, just for the reason you stated, it's available to everyone...everyone can stand in line and get one if they choose...the system is not based on either your financial situation...or if you happen to "know somebody". I have repeated it on this board several times over the years...so here goes one more time...long ago a former Paramamount exec was asked about how he felt about some parks having a system where a person could pay more to not wait in line...I have never forgotten his great answer. He said something to the affect "I never want to put a parent in a position where they have to explain to their child why some people do and some people don't have to stand in line". I couldn't have summed up my feelings any better.
Diamondback FOF
I figured you'd like it, but I didn't know since you said "EVERYONE waits in line for their turn." But, I guess you do wait in line at the machines. As to the waiting in line while in school, it sorta happens but not really anymore. People think since they are in high school they can walk in what is like a big mob and not in line when waiting. It kinda gets on my nerves. Oh well. The Interpreter
So do you not like the Fast Pass system at Disney? I think it is fair as it's available to everybody and it's free. For now. Disney has tested and continues to test charging for it...and is currently testing doing so at Disneyland Paris.
Jasper
I have noticed line jumping increases a lot during Halloween Haunt, I am assuming due to the darkness and fog and other special effects, easier to get away with. Back on the topic of the tours, this to me would be well worth the money, because, you get a front of the line pass to all the rides. You also get one to all the haunted attractions, that right there can save you a lot of time. Then you get the buffet and the all you can eat drink wristbands. To me, this is a really good value, just wish I had the money. Kind of contradicting myself.
KI FANATIC 37
Sorry, but I don't think thats worth the money?
The Interpreter
Going on a Friday night early in Haunt season is nearly as productive, for far fewer nickels....

The Interpreter
And without the minimum of two guests nor the maximum of eight....
