August 20, 200322 yr I heard it's not that bad. I dunno if I'd ride it looks painful although I heard it isn't and I am extremly scared of heights that looks like it'd kill me.
August 22, 200322 yr Author I had thought that maybe that was what they were doing to DZ this year. I like the idea of a tilted seat. Not that I'm not scared enough already as it stands.
August 22, 200322 yr Acrophobia @ SFOG.I have ridden 4 times.Before riding..Males...Get "Adjusted".The first time I rode it I didnt think it would matter.Ummm..It does.BIG TIME.Great ride though.Jus..Yea.
August 23, 200322 yr DZ is definately not getting adjusting seats. Too much time, too much effort. Just, no.
August 23, 200322 yr acraphobia is a midget of a Drop Tower compared ot any others ice seen, i dont care if they hang you face first by your ankles, if ur only goin that high its not worth the wait in line, it also breaks down alot, it went down twice with two diffrent problems the day i was there
August 24, 200322 yr With the exception of turing one of The Racers' trains backwards, I can't think of another time when they've modified a ride to change the riders' experience. Like CYong said, too much time, too much effort... plus it would be hard to push it as a new ride when it came to advertising it.
August 24, 200322 yr Isnt the height of the 2 deck of the Eiffel Tower at the same height as the drop height of DZ?
August 26, 200322 yr Author I don't believe that anyone has said that DZ seats were going to be changed or considered for a change. I simply stated that I had heard before the 2003 season began that PKI was going to change the seats to tilted ones. Does anyone read these threads before they post?
August 27, 200322 yr Ok, coming from the Drop Zone guy himself: Bottom line the tower is 315 ft. and the drop is 264 ft. Eiffel Tower is 314 ft. WOW Drop Zone beats it by the one foot because of the little tower on top! Thats the bottom line of this whole topic! Done. Said. Move along to another topic and lay off my ride!
August 27, 200322 yr "I can't think of another time when they've modified a ride to change the riders' experience. " -BoddaH What about changing the seats on FOF?
August 27, 200322 yr "I can't think of another time when they've modified a ride to change the riders' experience. " -BoddaH What about changing the seats on FOF? True, very true... I was just thinking more along the lines of track layout, etc. Although FoF is 10000x better new because of the new restraints, it really doesn't entirely change the ride experience. I mean, it's much more comfortable now, and you feel like you have more freedom, but it's still the same ride.
