November 5, 200916 yr What do you think Diamondback would be called if Paramount still owned Kings Island. I mean like a movie themed ride. Like Top Gun or something. This is if they were gona build the ride.
November 5, 200916 yr I thought perhaps "Iron Man." Although, "Swan Lake" has a more sinister, adrenaline-pumping coaster sound to it.

November 5, 200916 yr You mean if Paramount did not order the rides before Cedar Fair bought the Paramount parks. Because if that did not happen and Cedar Fair's decision to keep the order in place and not cancel it, then it very well could still be called Swan Lake. But as for what Paramount would have called it, I have no clue but I could safely assume it would have a similar Paramount movie title.
November 5, 200916 yr I remember the rumors that were strong for a B&M Dive Machine in Rivertown where Diamondback is, themed to the Core.
November 5, 200916 yr Author I remember the rumors that were strong for a B&M Dive Machine in Rivertown where Diamondback is, themed to the Core. I love that movie. That would of been cool.
November 6, 200916 yr I thought that Delerium was meant to be themed to "The Core", but lost its budget? Either way, I imagine we'd eventually get some sort of B&M, perhaps a dive machine / hyper in Rivertown, or perhaps a hyper back in what's now X-Base, colored green and themed to "Cloverfield" or "Iron Man" or something. I'd be cool with either, but am just as happy with what we have now. Though I miss Swan Lake.
November 6, 200916 yr I know Paramount didn't do the Austin Powers movies, but if they had, Delirium would be "Austin Powers: The Spy That Spewed"
November 6, 200916 yr Cloverfield would have been a sweet name back in X-Base. That is my favorite movie. Perfect for a B&M.
November 6, 200916 yr When will this stop! Iron Man would be cool but wouldn't fit in river town theming.
November 6, 200916 yr When will this stop! Iron Man would be cool but wouldn't fit in river town theming. What about BLSC? The Crypt?
November 6, 200916 yr Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think BLSC is technically in Rivertown. I don't know where the line is separating Coney Mall from Rivertown. I didn't make the park map. As far as Crypt, I'm at a loss... you'll notice that particular ride is missing from my 2009 ride list.
November 6, 200916 yr Backlot is part of the Rivertown Rides Crew. But usually labeled on the map in Coney.
November 6, 200916 yr ^ That's what happens when the moon is in the Seventh House and Jupiter aligns with Mars...
November 6, 200916 yr Honestly, I don't think Diamondback would be in the park. I think Swan Lake would still be there. Firehawk would have either peen put at a different park, or kept at GL.
November 6, 200916 yr I for one do not think the ride would be there either, but for the sake of fun I'll go along. I believe that they would have called it something along the lines of Star Trek, due to being Paramount and not having any attractions themed after that Movie/Show in the park.
November 6, 200916 yr couple of half thoughts. If CF hadn't bought the Paramount Parks- Geagua Lake may still be in operation. That one would be too close to call. GL was losing money but had they not incurred massive debt buying Paramount Parks at the precipice of a recession they may have had a bit more tolerance to keep it afloat until the economy improved. Was Diamondback a Cedar Fair or Paramount Park order/commitment? When they bought paramount parks, CF said that all of the previous owner's commitments would remain in place. Go with me on this: construction started prior to the 2008 season (clearing and marking land)- which would seem to think that drawings and concepts started in early 2007. It would seem likely that shortly after taking on $1.2 Billion in debt to obtain 5 parks in July 2006- that they would turn around and make a decision to fork out another $20 million right away in product development unless it was already in motion.
November 6, 200916 yr i remember reading a post shaggy did a long time ago mentioning that Diamondback (or the plan for the ride Diamondback) has been proposed countless times and paramount parks simply didnt want to do it. That would explain why it got going right off The Bat, and why i think Cedar Fair is solely responsible for Diamondback as a ride.

Might be possible if you think about when Behemoth opened?
