The Interpreter
The horses that were once part of a carousel at the former Geauga Lake amusement park are expected to be refurbished and sold to another Cedar Fair park, according to Robin Innes, director of public relations for Cedar Fair LP.The carousel was enclosed after the park shut down, and the horses are now in a storage facility at the property, where they'll be more protected and secure, he said. Innes didn't know when the horses would be refurbished, how much it will cost, or to which park the carousel will be relocated. He said once the carousel has been relocated, an announcement will be made.... http://www.auroraadvocate.com/news/article/4734223
Diamondback96
So just the horses are stored? Not the rest of the carousel? And how can they sell it to another CF park? Looks like someone didn't proofread this!
TTD-120-420
Thats what I was thinking. You aren't going to sell something thats already yours to yourself.
The Interpreter
Actually, each park has its own accounting, and if another Cedar Fair park gets the horses, I can assure you the books will be so charged...
IBEW_Sparky
I think the Carousel will go to WoF, since the park did not sell last year and it has been rumored/reported to be going there since it didnt sell at the Auction in 08. I also think that Big Dipper will be dismantled and moved to the Point, and placed where Demon Drop once stood. Now, with that said, I would not expect either of these things to happen until 2011 at the EARLIEST, more likely Carousel in 2011 and Dipper in 2012 or 13. flightoffear1996
I don't seem them moving the Big dipper at all. Why would they? I am sure its not very easy to move a wooden coaster and alot of the lumber I am sure would be broken in its dismantle. I don tsee dipper going anywhere.
