December 27, 200916 yr ...Disneyland's California Adventure Park in Anaheim has written a Woods joke into its Aladdin show. The genie in the show says that he had to remind Woods 15 times that he was unable to make someone fall in love with him, it was reported by the Los Angeles Times. One has to be concerned about the number of questions that might come from children to parents, and how parents will answer them. Disney if just the latest to make jokes at the expense of Tiger Woods after his Black Friday car crash, which was apparently the result of a domestic dispute. ... http://www.huliq.com...theme-park-show
December 27, 200916 yr I'm sort of surprised that Disney would do something like this. I don't believe that they have a motive, and all it's going to do to the show is maybe add a few giggles and laughs. I find it sort-of immature for Disney too add that line into the Aladdin show.
December 27, 200916 yr Its a show they take whats going on in the news and the genie tells them they can't do that wish. Also that show will end very soon.
December 27, 200916 yr I agree, ahank. This doesn't seem like the sort of thing Disney would do. I don't really have a problem with it, as most of the younger kids won't get it anyway. But I'm just surprised at the source.
December 27, 200916 yr Having actually watched the Aladdin show several years ago in 2005, I'm not surprised to see a Tiger Woods reference added into the production- the Broadway-style presentation includes several jokes that relate to pop culture and the current news. For example, back in 2005, Genie said something along the lines of "A princess falls for a street-rat- sounds just like Brittney Spears!" Unlike the attractions found at the original Disneyland, this California Adventure show is a tad more edgy and a tad less "Disney". However, I still think it's perfectly acceptable for families- the joke will go over the heads of nearly all children while remaining humorous for adults.
December 27, 200916 yr Author Not unlike Rocky and Bullwinkle. Hysterical when I was a boy...even more hysterical now. The things that flew right over my head....
December 27, 200916 yr I think it's pretty funny. Now, if they added a reference to their very own star's unfortunate mishaps (Miley's pole dancing, Vanessa's... incident) it would be even funnier.
December 27, 200916 yr I agree 100% with Ty. The show is very pop-culture oriented. I can't recall any references from the last time I'd seen it (quite a few years ago), but there were many hilarious jokes that, of course, children don't understand. But of course, that can be said of most any television show or movie. I grew up watching Roseanne each night with my family before bedtime and laughed along with everyone else. Today, it's one of my favorite shows, and it's incredible the things that I just completely missed. I doubt kids will leave the theater going "Mommy, what did he mean about Tiger Woods and falling in love?" Really... By the way, the show is amazing (fantastic sets, incredible music, some awesome stunts, and the Genie's witty "ad-lib" are essential elements), and I'm sad to see it go.
December 27, 200916 yr And, honestly, "Tiger Woods has fallen in love with a lot of women." would be a fairly decent explanation which wouldn't convey the full magnitude of what he actually did. (giggity)
