Chatter
I've been married for 10 years and my kids are nearly 7 and 8 years old. We have been going to PKI for the last 4 years and picking up more steam each year. We have never been to Fearfest. I have some questions: 1. How many scary attractions are there usually? 2. Are they really scary, or do they make you laugh like alot of haunted houses? 3. What's this Route 666 I keep hearing about? 4. Would the haunted houses be too scary for my kids? 5. As an adult, would I be bored to tears by the scary attractions? 6. Someone said something about kiddie attractions in Hanna-Barbera land......what kind of attractions? 7. Is it really free with a season pass because we just bought a family pass? Thanks, Chatter
fyrfyter
1. I think last year there were 5 or 6 spread throughout the park 2. Just like other haunted stuff, lots of fun 3. A "possible" new attraction as some have described it by haunting the antique car ride 4. Depends upon how old your kids are. If they can handle other haunted houses, they can handle these 5. The scares were pretty good and lots of fun last year. Its neat to see some of the effects 6. I never made it here last year, so other than Scooby Doo, I have no idea 7. As long as it was made by september 1st, 2003, all nights of fearfest should be free
Dane
1. How many scary attractions are there usually? 6 houses, 9 rides. 2. Are they really scary, or do they make you laugh like alot of haunted houses? 50/50 *Funny if you ask me, I'lll tell it. 3. What's this Route 666 I keep hearing about? Just a Fearfest attraction with a contraversial name. 4. Would the haunted houses be too scary for my kids? Mabey, not scarred for life, but mabey an accident. (if you catch my drift) 5. As an adult, would I be bored to tears by the scary attractions? Hell no. 6. Someone said something about kiddie attractions in Hanna-Barbera land......what kind of attractions? I have heard nothing. 7. Is it really free with a season pass because we just bought a family pass? Look at fyrfyter post.

Thanks, Chatter Chatter, My advice is get a baby sitter for the kids and take your wife alone to FearFesr because it's too scary for small children like yours. PKI even states that it's not good for children under 12 years old. Additionally, (if you have a baby sitter) I recommend renting a hotel room as they are cheaper in October and making it a romantic and fun time for you and your wife. Since FearFest a Halloween celebration, I recommend a nice bottle of red wine for the hotel room. Perhaps a Cabaret Savingnon or Merlot. Just a suggestion from one married man to another. The day time attraction for children are fine for your kids - but the evening haunted attractions are NOT. If possible, take the kids one weekend (as FearFest is now free with your season pass) for the family oriented aspects and take your wife another weekend for the scary stuff that probably won't bore you. Have a great day! Italian Chef
bignathan4403
1. How many scary attractions are there usually? 6 houses, 9 rides. So Dane, do you know what rides are going to be open on fearfest?
SML828
In past years, the only rides that were open during FF went from The Beast down thru Coney down thru Action Zone (that side of the park). Not all of the rides in that area, just saying that side of the park. I was always working so I never got to ride anything. The only one I know for sure was NOT open was Scrambler, because it's used as a queue line. I don't think Antiques have been open in the past, but as we've seen - those are supposed to be Route 666. I think everything else on that side of the park was open. Actually, I don't think Viking Ship was open...then again, I was always distracted working the gigantic lines at Festhaus when I was over there. bignathan4403
PKI PRESS RELEASE ON 9-4-03 3:00 PM In addition to all the horrific haunted attractions, those looking for a different kind of thrill can test their bravery on the most terrifying rides on the planet. All of Paramount's Kings Island's heart-stopping, take-your-breath-away thrill rides will be in operation throughout FearFest. (Please note that Hanna-Barbera and Nickelodeonâ„¢ Central will close at 7 p.m.)    Cool! Now I know I'll be able to ride the rides.

pki2005
How much will it cost to get into fearfest this year.
SML828
The price of daily admission, since FearFest is an all-day event...certain parts don't open till later, but it's an all-day event
missdi
From past experience I would definitely not take children under the age of at least 11 or 12. Looks as though there's going to be lots of things to do during the day for the children but as far as staying later in the evening I wouldn't take them. SOB_TOM
HB is going to be closing at 7, and all rides should be open. At least, thats how they did scheduling this year for it. In the past, its been sign up to work whatever ride you want.
darkdiamond85
Last year was my first time at FearFest. It was a couple of days before Homecoming, and I went with a friend that one of my friends set me up with. The first time I had ever met the guy that night we went to FF. I really hate haunted houses even though I was 17. I was so scared I was around the maze of madness and sob rider (my date) thought it would be funny to go up to six doctors and tell them I was very scared. So all six came over and got into my face and was saying stuff like "Come on Sweety, give me a kiss." and that kind of stuff. I put myself into a position that was having me looking at the ground saying that I knew it was fake and stuff like that. I got 6 characters out of character saying it was ok, that they were just joking. I was about ready to hurt Sob Rider. He can tell you all about it later maybe. But to this day I refuse to go back to FF.
