February 24, 201016 yr I have been contemplating for a while now if I should become a member of ACE or not. I think it would be really cool to be able to purchase ACE paraphernalia and gain access to special events and special publications. Seeing as the price is a tad bit high and that I really do not make it to that many parks very often I just don't know if it would be worth it for me. I do think however that if I purchased it that it would make me want to visit parks more often. This is a decision that has had me in rivets forever, can you guys give me some feedback to help make my decision?
February 24, 201016 yr I'm debating buying an ACE membership just to ensure that I get to go to CoasterMania! this year. Plus $60 per year isn't really that expensive.
February 24, 201016 yr I used to be a member of ACE many years back. But I am no longer a member, in part because of the relatively high dues, and I never went to very many events, save for the ones that happened at KI. Just note that there are other enthusiast groups out there, including the Great Ohio Coaster Club.
February 24, 201016 yr I think it's all a matter of whether you make it worth it. I attended 8 events last year, including 4 that were open to ACE members only. I love reading RollerCoaster magazine and ACE News, and I love being a part of an organization that is so active in preservation. I will be making good use of my membership again this year to attend Coaster Con, Holiday Hustle, and Riding of the Bull, all of which are ACE only events, and will probably add on to those plans as events are announced. To me, the cost is completely worth it for the great events I've been to.
February 24, 201016 yr ^ Exactly. If you arent going to benefit from most of what the membership fee costs, there are certainly other options at a lesser cost for you to take advantage of. I think we'd be in agreement that paying for a year membership to ACE for the ability to register for Coastermania would be a little silly as, like I said, there are less expensive options. But if you do take advantage of events that only ACE members are privy to and the literature - then shell out the money. After all... its just money - you can't take it with you when your times up!

If you are just intrested in CoasterMania, you can join CoasterBuzz for $25. I was a member of ACE years ago. It wasn't worth the money back then.

Inside the info on the website it talks about walk-backs and early rides on The Beast, are the walk-backs every day or just on select days?
February 24, 201016 yr Walksback were before the everyday ERT set in place 2009 season. So it sounds like just a old website text.
February 24, 201016 yr Actually, no. ALL coaster club members in 2009 could join in what is otherwise a gold and platinum pass only walkback....so it is still a benefit....or was in 2009.
March 13, 201016 yr My link I think Club Tpr would be my choosing. For $40 and you get a $15 store credit plus $5 for download.
