Beast1979 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 A lot we can learn from those pics about our Planet Snoopy. Obviously this is no meer "Go over it with Paint, give it a new name and market it", they're actually redesigning the kids area from the bottom up. Which is out of character for Cedar Fair, but I am not complaining! It also looks like they aren't just rebranding the kids area, but making Peanuts the new Park Mascot, from the Tickets to the Signs and all. Again, not complaining! I'm also glad to see there will be Snoopys on the benches and figurines in the Midway. One of my memorable moments from my first Cedar Point trip was sitting down next to Snoopy and his Cookies! TH13TEEN Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 ^ I agree, Cedar Fair I think really has stepped up their game for these new kids areas. Except Kings Dominions, I could not really tell what they were doing. That or it was their awful park map confuseing me. See Cam now talking in circles. Quote
TH13TEEN Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 Sorry for the second post but four more pics where added of Planet Snoopy. Quote
bkroz Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Can we expect the same for our Hoedown at the Peanut's Playhouse? It appears Great America will be getting the same entry plaza at Cedar Point's Planet Snoopy... Can we expect the same? I hope! Quote
TH13TEEN Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 I really do think Cedar Fair did a great job. Quote
McSalsa Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 I really do think Cedar Fair did a great job. I agree! Planet Snoopy Great America looks great thus far. If KI's version matches this (as far as repainting efforts and such, etc etc) then I'd bet money KI will win "Best Kids Area" again in 2010. But something disturbs me- Cedar Fair putting actual real EFFORT into theming!?!? The world is coming to an end!!! Quote
Beast79 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I got really excited in November when Creative Environs called me to see if I was interested in working on Snoopy's install since I helped them with Nickelodeon Universe, but in December I was told that ki was going to install in house. Oh well I'm still excited to see how it all turns out! Quote
TH13TEEN Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Sorry if I sound like a "noob", but what does "in house" mean? Quote
The Interpreter Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 It means the park is going to do it itself with its own employees, and not hire an outside contractor. Terp (there are no dumb questions, only dumb answers!) Quote
bkroz Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 The park is doing it themselves instead of contracting the construction to outside sources. EDIT: Guess who beat me. Quote
Browntggrr Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Planet Snoopy, cast of thousands, ready to roll at California's Great America Read more: Planet Snoopy, cast of thousands, ready to roll at California's Great America - Silicon Valley / San Jose Business Journal: Unlike Charlie Brown, California’s Great America officials feel they’ll get a solid shot at splitting the uprights during their 35th season, scoring with their expansive new Planet Snoopy display. Splitting the uprights & scoring? Intresting wording.... Quote
The Interpreter Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Perhaps they are worried about making it to their 49th season? Quote
