Michigan's Adventure 6-24-10 PTR

I was driving home from work Wednesday night when I decided to call Nick to see if he wanted to head to Kings Island the next morning. He said sure but he didn't seem to excited. So we brainstormed other parks we could go to. Six Flags Great America was high on our list but since Mitchell lost his season pass and had no money it was pretty much out of the question. So after a couple minutes I thought hey I've never been to Michigan's Adventure before and it's free with our Platinum Passes so why not?. So I mentioned it to Nick and he was all for it. I pretty much stayed up all night reading PTR's and watching POV's, this was not a good idea as a four and a half hour drive and a theme park was a tiring experience.. Needless to say the decision to not sleep came back to haunt me on Thursday night and Friday. I woke up with my entire body sore and had a fever of 102. Anyways on with the Report.. We arrived at the park right around noon. Despite what Nick says I only slept for 15 min on the way there. We got in the park and went to Zach's Zoomer. The line was way to long to wait so we walked the short walk over to the Big Dipper. Yes we are credit whores! After that we walked past Corkscrew which only runs one train and had a pretty full queue so we decided to bypass it and headed for Thunderhawk. Now I've only been on one other SLC but this one was glass smooth in my opinion. After that we rode Corkscrew, Zach's Zoomer, WildMouse, Wolverine Wildcat, then the big bad Shivering Timbers. ST is now my second favorite coaster. There was only one spot on the ride that I did not like. The double up was painful if you didn't remember to brace for it. We rode 4 more times then we decided to ride the train over to Thuderhawk for one more ride. We waited for the front this time and I absolutely loved the view! After this we walked over to Wolverine Wildcat to get a second ride. This is a neat little coaster there was only one spot that I remember being jackhammered. The extra soft padding in the seats is amazing! Same with Shivering Timbers. The Trains are amazing. Next we wanted to marathon ST for the rest of the day but it had broken down so I walked around to get a few more pictures. We walked back over to Shivering Timbers and just in time to the line opened up right as we go there. Back seat is where we rode I wanted the front but it was taken. After this we got in 4 more rides 3 in the front which is my favorite. I felt like I got a lot more air here than anywhere else. I also like how the ride ops there don't insist on stapling you in like they do at certain other parks.. They also seemed to be a lot more friendly. After those 4 rides it was time to say goodbye. I rate this park about a 7 out of 10. I will be going back before the end of the year! Now on to the pictures! Oh and despite what Nicks trip report says Shivering Timbers was my 110th coaster not 115.. lol

Great PTR, but I think MA needs some better coasters before I can make the three hour drive up there. But Shivering Timbers looks awesome.

Well since I'm going to the Wisconsin Dells (and you might also), I need to save most of my money for that. So I'd say STSTL or SFGAm. SFSTL is farther, but new to me, you have a ticket there, probably less busy, and less coasters. SFGAm is closer, but will be busier, more expensive for you, but it also has more coasters.
