December 12, 200322 yr I can't seem to find the statistic anywhere...how much money did PKI shell out for SOB? I think I heard a figure under $10 million off of some website, but that can't be for the size of him. Does anybody know the correct figure?
December 12, 200322 yr I am pretty sure it's around $15 million... one of the AZ guys/gals has to back me up...
December 12, 200322 yr I've heard $15 as the initial cost as well, but apparently they've shelled out $10 million in renovations.
December 12, 200322 yr What ever came of the lawsuit they filed in the off season after the first year?
December 13, 200322 yr well SOB cost around 30 million dollars cause of all the wood was shpped in and the cars cost 20,000 alone so it costs arond $35 mill. i could be wrong
December 13, 200322 yr well SOB cost around 30 million dollars cause of all the wood was shpped in and the cars cost 20,000 alone so it costs arond $35 mill. i could be wrong Im pretty sure the trains cost more than 20,000. Dont ask how i know but portions of top guns trains cost more than that.
December 13, 200322 yr Well I have no idea what the cost is I do know that the whole 1999-2000 Action Zone retheming/new rides was about a $50million project. I think SOB was supposed to be roughly half of that but it ended up costing more for many reasons. I should have the article about the original Action Zone announcement in a file (shoebox) somewhere, but hard telling where. I may find it online.
December 13, 200322 yr It was $15 million, but then after all the work they did, the end cost was $25 million.
December 13, 200322 yr The final cost of SOB has never been released nor will it be for obvious reasons.
December 13, 200322 yr Beastfreak, Please try to find the orginal Action Zone announcement, I would like to see it. Thanks, Jake
December 13, 200322 yr The 1999-2000 Action Zone expansion, was announced in the September 4, 1998 edition of the Cincinnati Enquirer. (I have a clipping of that article hanging in my room.) You might be able to find a copy of it on the Enquirer`s website, which is Cincinnati.com. It proclaims that the two year expansion cost $35 million. I`ve heard that estimates put Son of Beast at around $15-17 million. Although, obviously, they`ve spent quite a lot of money maintaining it and trying to smooth it out. As far as that lawsuit after the Son`s first season, I read somewhere where they settled out of court, but I`m not positive on that one.
