Delirium13
Thank you for posting this! I always enjoy stuff like this, it's always nice look back on these types of things, even though this park met a very tragic end, still very interesting! Those clowns give me the creeps! The Interpreter
I think the thing that stuns me the most about that site is the large crowd picture...which you can enlarge twice. Imagine if parks got that busy nowadays... http://www.mywvhome.com/Luna1.jpg Click on it to enlarge!
Delirium13
I also noticed that, it can be hard enough to get around Kings Island on a busy day, I can only imagine what it must've been like! I wonder what the wait was like for the roller coaster? Also interesting to note, the price for a Root Beer was only 10 cents. I wouldn't mind those prices for drinks at Kings Island now a days! The Interpreter
But, I bet 10 cents then was more than $3.79 is now. Many people made less than $4 a week then...
Oldiesmann
But, I bet 10 cents then was more than $3.79 is now. Many people made less than $4 a week then... Not quite that bad. According to that site, the photo was taken around 1914. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics inflation calculator says that's equivalent to about $2.18 in today's dollars. Still, that's a bargain compared to what you pay for a root beer at KI these days.
