Dieseltech20
Going to GA for the 1st part of next week to see the bro in law before he goes back to Afghan. Thinking about a visit to the Six Flags in Atlanta on the way back. Just wondering what to expect for crowds and such on Tuesday. I've heard about the thefts and such going on down there earlier this summer and that doesn't sound fun at all.
The Interpreter
Beware the unofficial parking lot that does not belong to Six Flags. It's on the right side right before you enter the park. If you park there, you will save money...and perhaps not find your car when you return. I know of more than one person who has parked there only to find their car had been towed when they returned...The road to the official parking lot passes under Goliath...and preferred parking, which is ridiculously expensive, is on the road to the right and up behind The Georgia Cyclone. The Interpreter
No...there are collectors there who collect money for the parking...but the collectors have no connection to the lot, purportedly...they take your money, issue some sort of ticket to go on your dash...and yet your car still gets towed. This has been going on for some time now...and Six Flags is not amused by it.

Browntggrr
.... and I always thought Roscoe P. Coltrane of Hazzard County, GA was fictional. On a serious note: Who ownes the lot? Are there signs posted for cars to be towed? How can the authorities continue to allow this scam to happen?
The Interpreter
I'd like answers to those questions, too. The park is not in the best of neighborhoods. This is also a good place to point out that under NO circumstances should you stay at any motel/hotel within a couple of interstate exits of the park. You will not be pleased. I love SFOG. I stay a good 10-15 miles away. And I try to watch out for myself just as I would in the Northeast...one must be vigilant, sad to say.
