Rye Playland Could Close

Recommended Posts

I have read on another site that Rob Astorino has been trying to get rid of Playland for years. The park has landmark status and is on the list of National Historical places. At least 5 of its rides have landmark status as well.

I hope that it does not close. In the mean time, it has risen in my priority of parks to go to next year.

And now a Children's Museum is also on the endangered list:

This seems to be a bit more than the usual "The Government Should Not Run An Amusement Park and Playland Needs to Go" grandstanding that occurs periodically. Times are different, money is much tighter...Make no mistake, the future of Playland is much more murky now than it has been in many a year.
