The Interpreter
http://www.philly.co...rated_past.html Be sure to click the photo to open the slide viewer. Don't miss the second slide. Sigh. I often wish there had been an Internet back then, or at least that parks and rides had been taken more seriously as a subject for history and social study. This is one of the places I might have gotten to, had I even known it existed. See also Riverview, in particular...sigh.

And there was an internet it started in 1957 However the home user it did not surface until the 80's
The Interpreter
Even if we accept that date (which I don't, Sputnik was in 1957 and ARPA began in 1958), I still predate the Internet. Sigh!
Purplehaze
I am pretty close to it Terpy And yes the internet was back then just not as we know it. The Interpreter
Actually, in the mid-Sixties I was using the predecessor of the Internet at Morehead State what was then College in Kentucky, but that's a story for another place and time. With IBM punchcards, no less.
CoastersRZ
The second slide touts that the park was once dubbed "America`s Finest Amusement Park." A slogan that Coney Island here in Cincinnati also used!
