BoddaH1994 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 A message from Kings Island: Please let the KIC community know that this Saturday at 7pm, Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis will select one lucky duck that has been chucked into the fountains on International Street as the winner of a new 2010 Toyota Yaris courtesy of Joseph Toyota of Cincinnati. We’ve raised nearly $150,000 for breast cancer awareness through the sale of the pink ducks. All net proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Greater Cincinnati affiliate. Ducks can be purchased as the park or online at www.visitkingsisland.com/forthecure. Sales at the park end at 6:30pm Saturday. Online sales will end at 5:00pm that day. Quote
Dbfan Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 150,000 dollars raised, 5 dollars a duck...(Of course there are some 20 for five, but probably not many) This goes to a total of... about 30,000 ducks. Good luck everyone! Quote
Jasper Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Even though I am not a Bengals fan, come on Marvin, Jasper needs a new car! Posted from my iPhone....4!!! Quote
pcc Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 We left the park for this event, since it was crowded and we were literally soaked to the bone. Going back after the event is over tonight...Here's a picture I grabbed today of the ducks Quote
Dbfan Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I see my duck! Now Coach Lewis needs to pick it. Quote

I've been searching high and low for pictures of the ducks or even videos on Youtube and this is the very first one I've found. If anyone can direct me to other pictures, please do so. Thanks! Good job KI and KI patrons! Quote

IndyGuy4KI Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Glad to see the bar code stickers stayed on there. I really assumed the chlorine would have eaten them off! I did not get a call, I guess I did not win! I am glad it was a successful event. Quote
Cormaster Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 I'm glad so much money was raised for the event. We did our part and bought 2 ducks and chucked one. I'm not sure why but my mother-in-law wanted a pink duck to keep, so we kept one and gave to her. Anyway I don't think we won the car as we never got a call, but I'm glad to see so much money was raised for a good cause! Quote
