February 25, 200422 yr Ihave The Beast and The Beast 2, I also thought maybe there was some truth. Thanks
February 25, 200422 yr Totally fictitious. An interesting note is that I believe the pair of Beast books by R.L. Stine make The Beast the only coaster to have a fictitious book created about it. I believe the book came out about ten years ago in either 1993 or 1994.
February 25, 200422 yr Shamlessly Leeched from amazon books Grade 4-7?Jamie, 11, has many fears, but two rule his life. First, there is The Beast. This creature, visible only to him, thrashes outside his bedroom at midnight, waiting for the moment to destroy him. His only protection is a series of superstitious rituals that he performs with increasing complexity. Simultaneously, he is terrorized by the school bully; avoiding Brendan's threats and mischief become an obsession as well. One night, Jamie accidentally witnesses his nemesis being abused by his father; this incident leads to a confrontation with Brendan and ultimately to a better understanding of him. Buoyed by this success, Jamie comes to realize that while magic can't stop bad things from happening, intelligence and courage can. The boy's interactions with Brendan are more credible and satisfying than those with the monster. Wild writes in simple, but effective, prose, offering insights on the topics of fear, abuse, and having compassion for your enemy. While the themes are obvious, they are not overbearing, and do not detract from a riveting plot and endearing characters.?Tim Rausch, Crescent View Middle School, Sandy, UT Copyright 1995 Reed Business Information, Inc. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title. Ingram Twelve-year-old James Dickson and his cousin take a midnight run on Kings Island's legendary roller coaster and plummet back in time and into potential disaster. By the author of the ""Fear Street"" series. Book Description THRILL RIDE I mean, The Beast® was one awesome ride! My cousin Ashley and I had never been on anything like it. And then we heard about the ghost that was supposed to ride it at night after the park closed. A ghost on a roller coaster? Yeah, sure. I didn't believe it, of course. Then one night after the park closed, we found ourselves on The Beast. Was I shocked when it started to move! But that was just the beginning. Because, you see, we weren't alone...and the guy with us wasn't exactly human! And The Beast 2(We could call it Son of Beast maybe?) Climbing on an exciting new amusement park ride, Ashley longs for just one more ride, but when her car returns, Ashley has disappeared, and her closest friend must also get on The Beast in order to rescue her. You know what this may bode well for a contest......................
February 25, 200422 yr R.L. Stine wrote the book after he visited PKI, or at least that is my understanding. In the book he mentions in very loose detail a ride on The Beast. He also mentions The Vortex, the Eiffel Tower as well as the Royal Fountain.
February 25, 200422 yr He also mentions the Reds as well. I think he grew up in Cincinnati actually. I think...but I'm not sure.
February 25, 200422 yr If memory serves me right, what is now PKI used to be ravines and farm land - no amusement parks or anything else.
September 17, 200520 yr I know this topic is old, but I have a question. Does anybody remember the Goosebumbs series on T.V. I think it was on Saturday mornings. If you do, do you know if The Beast was ever produced for the television show?

September 18, 200520 yr do you know if The Beast was ever produced for the television show? That's a good question. I think it would make a great Saturday morning show if they haven't already done it.
September 18, 200520 yr I have read the book, wasn't thrilling or anything. I still need to read the 2nd one. Is it any good? oh yeah!
September 18, 200520 yr I didn't like either of the books. I like R.L. Stine, but I was bored with this series... no offense
September 19, 200520 yr According to his bio, Stine grew up in Columbus, OH and went to Ohio State. It stated that he recently sold rights to "The Beast" to IMAX for feature film production.
