jcgoble3 Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I'm starting to look for a hotel/motel near Holiday World for Holiwood Nights. I've briefly gone through HW's hotel page, but I'm looking for some experience-backed advice from people who have been there before. I'm looking to go as cheap as possible for 2 nights (Fri/Sat), but I'd also like to be reasonably close to HW. I'm considering the possibility of buying a tent (or digging my old one out of the garage if I can find it) and camping at Lake Rudolph, but I haven't done that since the year I spent in Boy Scouts 12 years ago, so I probably won't do that unless I can't find a decent hotel or motel. Any ideas or advice? Quote

It was a very nice hotel with an indoor swimming pool and actually pretty nice rooms. I was looking for more along the lines of a cheap, no-frills motel. I'm hoping to stay under $200 for Friday and Saturday nights (check-in 6/3 and check-out 6/5). Quote

Those who made reservations upon leaving last year did not pay anything close to the rates you are being quoted. It's no different than buying a season pass...generally, the closer to the time you will use it, the more you will pay. Quote

I'm sorry to say this then, but it's going to be pretty hard for you to find a decent hotel not too far away from Holiday World under $200. Quote

Maybe it was $150 when you went, but that may have to do with the dates in question or what Terpy mentioned. Just now, their reservation system quoted me $250 for the two nights in question. Quote

Looks like I may be searching for a tent... Quote

I won't deal with any site that doesn't tell you where you're staying until after you book, but a quick search on Orbitz gave me several options well within my price range. Thanks for the tip. Quote
