Dieseltech20
First no seeker, no Vortex, No FX theater. Now Beast just went down. Ugh.
Thrill_Biscuit
Hmm. Sorry to hear that. Are they still blasting old rock through the speakers on International Street?
Oldschool75
I hope The Beast will be back up soon. I'll be up in about 2 hours. I was wondering if Vortex would be open with the construction zone so close to the exit.
Dieseltech20
Still the same old music here. Beast may be down all day. No Red Racer, Blue just sent an empty train. No Zypher. Vortex has a train sitting on the lift.
LongliveKingsCobra
haha Opening Day...gotta love it! Other than that are yall having fun? have you been to The Crypt yet?
Hendrick
Still the same old music here. Beast may be down all day. No Red Racer, Blue just sent an empty train. No Zypher. Vortex has a train sitting on the lift. That train has been sitting for nearly a month. Edit: That's what I get for trying to watch The Office at the same time as type... Dieseltech20
Having fun. Blue is up. Have not tried Crypt yet.
standbyme
I'm sorry to hear the so many things aren't running...but even so it could be worse. You could be at work like me! Have a great day...and send us a Crypt report soon!
Dieseltech20
Almost everything here has had at least one problem so far. I hope nobody paid full admission today. I saw some people having pass scan issues. Oh well, it's better than off season, lol.
Dieseltech20
Coney Mall looks great though No Invertigo or Flight Deck. At 4 bucks a gallon I should have stayed home
Hendrick
At this rate, I think it might be shorter to write a list of rides that are working!
catzdrummer09
Alright, I about to leave and make the 2 hour drive...I'm beginning to think this isn't worth it.
bkroz
I always tell my friends to not go on opening day. Last year, Backlot, Flight of Fear, The Beast, Invertigo, and Drop Zone were closed most of the day, as I recall. Is it simply because of the new operators using the rides and the lack of "dress rehearsal" days like Paramount used to have? I imagine that waking up all of that technology and subjecting it to patrons for the first time in months is also a factor...
Hendrick
I'm hoping the park's rides are running much better by next week, when I plan on going down.
m2raptor
Well im glad to see im not alone with my bad luck. I was in line for The Beast when it went down so I went to the Crypt and while i was getting ready to ride it it went dow. Hopefully some of these issues get fixed soon cause I just saw about five school buses pull in and everything is already super p acked. Dieseltech20
We were in line for beast as well when it stopped. The lines for the open rides are worse than haunt. Diamondback went down, so we left the park. People are pouring into the park still. Gonna watch a movie then go back to see what is going on. If still a mess we are gonna leave for our 2 plus hour drive home. As it stands now, stay away from Kings Island today.
74Gibson
I would like to thank (crazy user name that I've spent too much time trying to figure out) for making me feel better about not being able to go. I'm still sad to not be there. Sorry for rocky operations and I hope the trip gets better. When I go to opening days though, I expect big crowds and plan on focusing on just enjoying the park atmosphere and my friends. I don't expect to get a lot of rides in. Reflecting now... I'm talking about CF parks and I fully expect major downtime on multiple rides. Should that be?
Dieseltech20
Lol. I'm a diesel mechanic.
McSalsa
From the webcam, a construction vehicle just pulled up next to WindSeeker. Seems they are still doing work back there, which would explain why Vortex is closed too...
Hendrick
Like I said, going back to 4/10, Vortex has been sitting on the lift hill for a little while now.
Bennett
Going up this afternoon after 4pm...hopefully, they will have some of the bugs worked out. This is our first year for family season passes, a beautiful day to go!
Jason B
I had started to consider marking the drive down this afternoon and I am glad I checked on here first. Maybe next weekend....
standbyme
The lines for the open rides are worse than haunt. And that comment is scarier than any haunt at haunt!
74Gibson
Lol. I'm a diesel mechanic. and I'm good at missing the obvious. I don't get it. I can fix anything in a house but automotive references are pretty well lost on me. I know what a glow plug is if that gets me any credit
Oldschool75
I guess they changes their minds since everything is going down. Vortex seems to be testing now.
Snowman
Crypt Que is definately improved but, won't give anything away, Sorry GYK..... The actual ride cycle is changed and seems tamer than last year. There were no "flips", just large inverted circles. We went early on so maybe it will change as it warms up. The lines were crazy long!!! Gold pass lot was full at Noon. Scroll on the sign outside detectors said "Rides closed today, Vortex, WindSeeker, Action Theater"
Dieseltech20
Vortex and most everything else is working now. It is VERY packed though. Feels like haunt.
m2raptor
When Slingshot breaks down I decided I was done and to cut my loses. OK that was not the only reason, mostly the 2.5 hr lines at least on everything and also I think everything besides the train broke down at some point today. I know that I waited a little over 1 hour in the Diamondback single rider line. All of this on top of the rides that were not open and Music in the Park day made this extremely busy and a little hectic. No hard feelings but I am really not for sure that Kings Island expected so many people being there today. I'll be back in a few weeks to try out WindSeeker (hopefully next Sat if it is open). A day like today makes me glad that I have a Gold Pass; but at least I had 3 laps on Diamondback and some nice walking.
Captain Picard
I was feeling bad that this is the first time in 12 years I didn't buy a pass or go to opening day. I am ok with it now that I see it's just the way I thought it would be.
Pillsberry123
I was on The Beast when it went down, on the brake run before the station.
