Sea World 5/25/11

Manta back Seat!!!

My family feel in love with SWO last summer. Another tip the rides in the back of the park get busy later in the day while manta line shortens late in the day. A great photo op and a cheap but worth while upcharge is feeding the dolphins.

if you take anything away from my post here let it be that you at least try Manta from the back seat. Have Fun!!!!

Manta and Kraken are both great. I definitely recommend the shows! I went in April and especially liked Blue Horizons, Clyde and Seamore, Pets Ahoy and Believe. Now that One Ocean is open, its had rave reviews for this new Shamu show.

1. Have fun. :)

2. Tell us about it. ;)

Seriously, I have yet to go to any SeaWorld park, so I can't really help you. I hope to make it down there someday, though.

Anyone that knows me, knows there will be pictures to go around.

Blue Horizons, and the new Killer Whale show. I have not seen the new show, but word from down there is the show is better than Believe (before it was ra....errrr..... changed.) Oh and the cat/dog show (I forget the name of it honestly) is pretty good too.

I am not going to lie I loved Sea World. Loved it so much I am planning a 2 day trip to Tampa, for a Reds game, Busch Gardens, and beach trip.

SW.jpg

BUT the day did NOT start out desireable. And the story begins

SW27.jpg

Amanda, my fiancee, and I had been wanting to go to Sea World since we got down here on the Disney College Program. After many complications and a family tragedy we finally got the chance. Now through Disney we got Meal Deal tickets for under $70 each, not a bad deal, and a 2nd day free.

SW33.jpg

We wake up early, to get there for the national anthem, it is actually closer to us than anything Disney.

SW15.jpg

After the national anthem we continued to head to Kraken, thanks Avatar for the tip. Though this is where our day went south. We were going to be the first passengers of the day on Kraken when we were told of the locker requirement. Neither one of us had much money and no change on us. I wish and employee along the line would of seen her bookbag and let us know. O well we ended up getting change and getting a locker by Manta. We used that locker for all day. Manta had an hour wait and it was just 40 minutes into operation. Ended up costing us a dollar for two trips to it.

SW30.jpg

Walk by to Kraken and it was broke. So we ventured next door and saw the Penguins and Sea Otters. When we got to the otters we saw Kraken go up with passengers. We walked right on Kraken in row 3 and wow that ride is intense. Raptor is my only other B&M Floorless, and I must say while Raptor is fantastic, Kraken is better. All I could say after my first ride on Orlando's Tallest and Fastest coaster was, "I gotta do this again, just not right away." The ride is intense.

SW16.jpg

Next up was Kraken neighbor, Journey to Atlantis. Did not know what to expect from this. The pre show video was hyping it up big time, but I had my doubts about how wet you really got. After a 15 minute wait we board in the back row. Reminded me of Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom, minus the animatronics. You get immersed into this underwater world. First drop I did not get wet at all, then some punk drenched me for just 25 cents. Never did find them again that day. Then there the 2nd hill and that when it gets exciting. Overall very fun ride.

SW8.jpg

It was about 11 when we got off so we headed to the first show and met Clyde and Mr.Seamore, along with pirates looking for Pirate Island. The show was nice, but after being used to Disney acting, watching these actors was hard. Still the show was good, and the jokes were chessy but good. The sea otters were fantastic and we stayed dry in the soak zone.

SW18.jpg

Next we headed to lunch and ate at Sea Fire Inn. Fantastic food and we didn't have to pay a dime with our meal deal, can't beat that. It filled both of us up and prepared us for what was next. One Ocean, Shamu new show. Again we sat at the soak zone, and mocked it since we stayed dry the first time. This time we did get a little wet but definitly not soaked. The show was unbelieveable. It blew my mind what these large sea animals can do. I will share some pictures instead of words.

Meet Shamu

I had to go to the locker before the next ride to put everything we had in it, so we lost nothing on the next ride.

The next ride was SW29.jpg

I have ridden flying coasters before, actually just Firehawk. I was waiting for this B&M goodness all day. The line was just 15 minutes and moved quite nicely. They only had two trains and one side of the station open, so 15 minutes is quite nice. I know Firehawk couldn't load and unload that quick. This coaster is AMAZING. Again very forceful, extremely graceful. My biggest complaint is, kinda uncomfortable for males, if you follow my drift. Since you are facing down the whole time you are laying on that for the 5-7 minutes you are aboard. Really doesn't hurt till your on the final break run. We then headed for our second trip on Kraken.

SW30.jpg

After Kraken we went and saw Blue Horizons. Another fantastic show by Sea World. Amazing storyline, fantastic acrobatics and diving, and the dolphins and whales were amazing. I sadly did not get pictures because my phone was near death so it was in the locker the rest of the day. We also went and saw the rest of the animals; Sting rays, dolphins, alligators, mantatees, and Manta aquarium.

SW31.jpg

That is all for know, but I will leave you with some treats. Hope you enjoyed reading sorry for the slowness on getting the PTR up.
