Flying Solo - A June 4 Trip Report

Featured Replies

Usually, when I go to Kings Island I take my daughter. So it's pretty rare for me to venture outside of Planet Snoopy. But this weekend, I had a couple hours to cut loose and I made the most of them. Here's a link to the full trip report detailing a middle-aged dad's fleeting moments of freedom in a park full of teens:

Thanks for reading!

Nice report!

At one point, the girls called out to a guy in a tower that they did not want to be drenched by the water cannon. Naturally, the guy responded by totally soaking us from head to toe. My shorts were still damp this afternoon. The guy called back, “Here’s a hint girls: It’s a water ride!”

Rule Number One of White Water Canyon: You do NOT ask the guy that controls the water cannons to not fire them. That goes for the guests controlling the 25-cent cannons at the end also. I hope those girls learned that lesson.

Glad you liked it!

The girls did NOT learn their lesson with regards to the water towers. They begged the next cannon operator and the guests controlling the cannons not to fire. Those wishes were granted. Although by that point it made no difference. We all looked like we'd been dunked. You could have blasted us with a fire hose and we wouldn't have been any more saturated.

Fun read, thanks for posting.

Did the girls find out if their cell phones were water proof?

Thanks for reading!

The one girl who brought her cell phone on the ride placed a call immediately afterwards. So I guess it survived.

When I rode Diamondback, the kid next to me had his phone out for just about the entire ride! I don't know phones, but it was a touch screen. It sure looked a lot more expensive than my phone. I kept an eye on it in case I had to dodge it when he released his grip.

Kids today, I tell ya ;)

A very good trip report...I love your sense of humor! :)

Thanks for the kind words. If you're going to walk around an amusement park by yourself in a Superman T-shirt a sense of humor helps!
