Truth Seeker
Usually I go to Kings Island every year. When I go though, I make sure to ask my family if they would like to come with me. More often than not they say no. Well, this year a few of them unexpectedly said yes. While I am happy they will be enjoying the day with me, I am worried about the crowds. In years past I was able to come on a weekday since I was on vacation and obviously work was not a problem. This year though, I will have to come on the Saturday before July 4th. What I would like from, you, the posters at KICentral.com, is to help me plan my trip. I already have a vague idea of which rides I want to hit up and when ,but I wish to know what type of crowds I should expect and of course any other help with my trip would be greatly appreciated. Oldiesmann
It might be pretty crowded, because most (if not all) fireworks shows in the area are on the 3rd, and, as with Memorial Day weekend, military personnel will get free admission that weekend (with $30 tickets for the rest of their family). However, the park is open until midnight that night, so you'll have an additional two hours to spend riding things if you decide to stay for the entire day. The only nearby festivities I could find for that day are up at The Beach Waterpark - a concert from classic rock group Denim Road from 2-3pm, Despicable Me showing in the wave pool at 8:30 (part of their "Dive-In Movies" series) and fireworks after the movie. MarketingExpress
Expect a large crowd that day, especially if the weather is half decent
dare-to-fly
Expect a ridiculous crowd. That's the first of the midnight closes. In 09, Beast was running a 2 hour wait during those days. I'd go the following day, personally, but it's up to you.
