DBInternational
Does anyone know what Cedar Fair might dO in the near future with paramount story? I know they still use it during haunt for cemetery drive, but during the regular season it is left empty. Also, do all past paramount parks have a paramount story? TombRaiderFTW
Welcome to the boards, DBInternational! I don't know about all the former Paramount parks, but I do know that Kings Dominion does not have a former Paramount Story area. It's the only other Paramount park I've been to. bkroz
Welcome to the boards, DBInternational! I don't know about all the former Paramount parks, but I do know that Kings Dominion does not have a former Paramount Story area. It's the only other Paramount park I've been to. To my knowledge, ours is the only of the former Paramount Parks with such an area (which, by the way, pre-dates Paramount - it was called then and is called now The Tower Gardens). When Paramount came along, they filled the gardens with movie props and engraved stone panels with famous Paramount movie titles. Kings Dominion doesn't have a standalone area, but there is a pathway of those stone tiles that circles the base of their Eiffel Tower. Like ours, they are now blank. I believe they had props like ours (Enterprise models, etc) in the flower beds around the tower, but that may be a false memory... The Tower Gardens truly were a beautiful spot at Kings Island, and while I understand that they serve no specific function, it's a shame to see them so deserted. I can't imagine how it would hurt to at least fill the ponds and lightly circulate the water, even if the waterfalls and lighting weren't set. There's a nice gallery of the "old" gardens here. It really is a shame, because it was always a very relaxing, well-landscaped, romantic spot to escape to, and still has to the potential to be so. I think that's why a few of us here were hoping that's where the Starlight Experience would take place - it would liven up that area at night, it's easy to navigate people through, and it would've made it more along the lines of Cedar Point's Starlight show, which is truly all-encompassing, with tree canopies illuminated above you the entire time (whereas ours is admittedly more like a few trees in a wide field with Christmas lights wrapped around them as is). If you haven't yet, visit the top of the Eiffel Tower and look down on the Gardens to see exactly how "photogenic" they are today. Sigh.
Titan
Yeah, now it's pretty much used as a smoking section, but I try to avoid the area because of my asthma.
thekidd33
Plus if Starlight Spectacular was moved to Tower Gardens then their would be room for a nice GCI between Backlot and DB! One can dream I suppose...
DBInternational
Wow the gardens used to look really nice. I walked through there last week and it was pretty sad seeing how it was all empty and no water circulating what soever. Thanks for the help. rip-phantomtheater
Tower Gardens or what ever it was called, its a real shame to see it in the pits, hopefully they do something about it, may be they can make it a walk through with all the old rides. Maybe every few or so blocks have something from that ride, like they had movie props. Then the can change out the tiles and put in new tiles with the "dead" coasters names. Like the coaster grave yard that they usually have out for HH. Cool or what?
DBInternational
I think that'd be pretty neat to inform park guests about the parks history.
upstop
Would make a cool area for Antique Cars.......
flightoffear1996
That area seems kind of small for that. I would like to see it kept like it is but spruced up a little bit
LongliveKingsCobra
I remember after lunch dad and I would walk through there and sit by the Water fall, then go for a trip on the train ride. I miss that area dearly! It was a great place to realax and look at Paramount Movie stuff
DBInternational
I think ki would be better without smoking areas. Sadly, smokers are paying customers too...
MrSaturdayNite
Rejuvenating Tower Gardens wouldn't be very difficult, and would be a great improvement to the park that everyone could enjoy, including non-riders. This is what I would like to see done: 1. Move the smoking area outside of the Gardens, 2. Restart the waterfall and circulate the water in the ponds. 3. Put in a wide variety of flower beds. 4. Add seating throughout the gardens, including some tables on the lower platform by the waterfall. 5. Make it a priority area for park sweeps.
