LoveKingsIsland Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 We arrived at KI via the north gate on Tuesday, and it took us 45-50 minutes to get past the parking gate out front. Traffic was almost backed up to McDonald's at a dead stop. When we got to the parking gate, I was surprised to see only person working the gate (thus, the extreme back up). Poor guy--I felt sorry for him. People were road-raging. When we finally got in, I relayed this information to one of the attendants near the info desk (so maybe they could get more staffing out there). She said to always enter the through South gate (as it is 'staffed better' than the North gate). Do you find this true? I arrived at 10 am (which I know is opening time), but it was a Tuesday and the third time I've attended this year. This happened to us once or twice last year, too. I'm a frequent-flyer. I've emailed KI, and they did return my call. She said that she would forward it on to management. (I emailed this about this topic last year--doesn't look like they fixed the problem). You'd think they'd want to get us in (to spend $!) and to prevent blocking traffic into their neighborhing business partners down the road. Geeesh! Quote

d-lo775 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Speaking from experience, operating the north gate by yourself completely stinks. I worked two gates, at that location, by myself on a couple of occasions for about 4 hours. Only to get some help an hour before they closed that entrance. The only good thing about it was staying so busy that time went by very quickly. Quote

CoastersRZ Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Well, I have witnessed a long back up at the south gates this year. I went on a Friday evening back in early May. I arrived around 5:15 and proceeded to be greeted by a long back up. The reason? They had only two people stationed out there, and one of them was having computer issues and thus could not scan passes. I understand about having computer issues, but only having two people out there to begin with was a little unreasonable. Quote

supergreek35 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 north tolls opens and closes depending on the traffic. but it sounds like your coming from kings mills, which means your turning left into the toll roads which sucks no matter which tolls is open Quote
