Scooby_Doo
Okay everyone i just got back from PKD'S opening day (iam in my hotel room now) which was today many of you have noticed i have been on PKIU for most of the day .Well while i was in the Park today i noticed How Different There Scooby Doo Dark Ride is to ours at PKI now i know they all have some Similar things BUT theres is Totally different as you walk up to the Ride you See a HUGE I MEAN HUGE Scooby Doo Statue...pretty cool Looking..ok as you walk up to the Ride you can see The Mystery Machine Parked yes.. a REAL MYSTERY MACHINE... next to the Haunted Manison you can also see Fred,Daphne,Velma cut outs there in there SCARED poses...Scooby&Shaggy look like there Running away from somthing until i Noticed the Creeper Cutout thats what there Running from..ok as you get in your Mystery Machine the Ride its self is Fun just like PKI'S but AS there ride goes your Mystery machine bumps into and opens the Gates to the Graveyard..and the Doors to the Manison..i noticed that they have some Extra sences Like they have Skelton with a Magic ball and if you hit the Target next the ball the Scooby Doo Villans Heads Go up and down..and then at the End of the Ride they only have the One Villan in the Police truck and there Rally board which tells you your Score has Scooby and Shaggy Leaning on it!....what iam getting at is Why doesnt PKI have HUGE scooby Statue? and why doesnt PKI have the Mystery Machine? Thanks everyone Scooby
Tanner
Where exactly would the statue go? Now with the ride being as popular as it is, I don't see where they would put it without congesting the area more unless they put it in the grassy area off the side of the beginning of the line. However that would look out of place and not go good.

Tanner
The statue is cooler than I thought, their building has a more realistic look, and I must say the Mystery Maching looks cheesy.
Scooby_Doo
Yeah the Statue is awsome up close...you gotta see the Mystery Machine in person i have one more Photo i would like to post...its the Manison front veiw!
drewbari
The building that SDATHC is in, has been from one ride to a another ride, a bunch of times, but has PKD SCATHC been changed?
teenageninja
The huge Scooby statue is cool. The mystery machine looks like absolute crap though. It looks a little too boxy. I think they should have used the on ride photo mystery machine by SDATHC if they are going to use one.
RyanA
It's my understanding that PKD built a show building for SDATHM on the former site of a log flume. Also, I don't believe PKD's uses the PT ride system, I assume it uses Sally's dark ride vehicles, which could be a reason that gates open and doors open, the vehicle allows for it more. Also, you have to remember that ours was converted from PT, so PKI did not need to theme the walls the vehicle does not face, so the car never really is going forwards that much, so there's really no need for doors and gates, but that is a cool feature. I still like the castle better, I think it looks neater, there's kind of resembles the Scooby Ghoster Coaster backdrop. Still, sounds like they did a great job. stephenmayes
Here is another quick question about SDATHC. Does it use the same track and lay out as Phantom Theatre only with totally different theming? I know they changed the cars a little bit but does it still follow the same patters inside the building? I am pretty sure it does, but I could be wrong. Steve
Scooby_Doo
The Building is Brand New the Ride that used to be where SDATHM is now was Snagglepuss's Parachute school they torn it down and built the Building that is Now Scooby Doo's Haunted Mansion at PKD yes the Statue is Awsome its HUGE!you guys have to Really see the Mystery Machine in Person it looks awsome with the Fog blowning everywhere BUT the Statue is my favorite i wish PKI would put one in by the Haunted Castle(maybe next to where you can get your Picture with Scooby-Doo and Shaggy,Velma, but I wish PKI would put more themeing into the haunted castle outside like more TombStones and Cutouts of Monsters and Ghosts PKD did a GREAT I mean an AWSOME job themeing there Scooby Dark ride...PKI we need that Mystery machine next to the Haunted castle! overall there ride is great for Kids, and People who LOVE the Doo! Yeah i think they changed the Pattern for SDATHC it kinda the same layout i think! Scooby!

darkride_chick
Steve- To answer your question--yes; the SDATHC track follows the same route that PT did. The changes that took place to transform PT into SDATHC were mainly in the form of bringing in new themeing and, of course, adding the light blaster scoring system. coasterrz
It is my understanding that while the track follows the same layout, they changed the way in which the cars rotate and spin throughout the course. As far as the ballroom, I`m assuming you are refering to the "2-story" room with the ghosts that utilizes the Pepper`s Ghost effect. They removed the large panes of glass and filled in the floor. I do believe that the scene with the chess board and the chimney in the center, and I believe books on the side of it, was where this scene was located. The turn in diffrent directions now. If you walk through the ride while it is not running, you can see small remnents of PT. Things like walls of brick that used to be the background for certain scenes. They have just painted them black.
Dino2003
Ohhh okay cool Thanks now i know what scene to look for! so they painted the walls black cool.
GreenGhost2003
Why put the Staute in PKI we already have 2 Huge Pictures of Scooby Doo and Shaggy while going into HBL on the side of the Castle.
stephenmayes
Plus no two rides at any park are exactly the same. The structure of the ride itself may be indentical but the theming will almost always be different in some way Steve
Scooby_Doo
True if all rides were the same ol thing they would be Boring and i wouldnt need to Travel everywhere just to ride em!

TowerGuy
SGA is scooby's ghoster coaster, I think. The Ghoster Coaster at PKD is a copy of The Beastie at Kings Island. It is not like the Ghoster Coaster at PKI.
