stephenmayes
Ok due to the sever boredness that one sometimes finds himself in during an off hour, I went surfing through the Paramount Parks websites. I was just looking at the calendars to see when everyone opened and I noticed something interesting. PKI is the only paramount park that closes at 11 or 12. With the exception of a couple days in October for KD. Does anyone know why the other parks close on average earlier? Or why PKI stays open later? Just an interesting thought PGA Hours Carowinds Calender Kings Dominion Calender CW Calender
0-120
Because we're special Maybe the other parks have state laws? I don't know.
littlefishbigsea
I think that the 12 o'clock closings are based on bring-a-friend-free days, and I'm not sure, but I don't think that every park has the same goldpass perks. If they don't have bring-a-friend-free days, there may be no reason to stay open so late.
coasterbilly
that is interesting. Was PKI open this late last season? I remember it closing 10 when i was there last season.

AZ Kinda Guy
Maybe it has something to do with us attracting more guests than our sister parks do? Thus the more guest you have, the more they wait in line. Therefore, you keep the park open longer so they can experience more of our attractions....Just an educated guess though! teenageninja
I'm going to go with Spark on this one, KI has one of the highest seasonal park attendances, so therefore they are going to stay open longer.
darkstar_skater_00
I think Kings Island should stay open all day and night
Beastfreak
I'll go with Sparky's answer and the fact that KD is near DC so they get lots of "problem groups" in the park, not sure about the other parks. Thus the earlier they get them out the better. It could also just be that over the years they found that not too many people are still left in the park on those late operating days that it is just not worth staying open and spending money on the labor to do so. darkride_chick
I think Kings Island should stay open all day and night Wow. If that really happened, I really would live in the Haunted Castle instead of just telling the kids that I do...
drewbari
I think Kings Island should stay open all day and night That would be cool! On Grad nights they used to be open all night, but not any more.

DragonLord
Grad Nights are the worst nights to work! New employees beware... I'm glad that we don't have the park open as long as it used to be.
shadow2k3
I was there as a guest last year during grad nite... Talk about crowded! Plus I heard that there were fights and things like that. Although I could be wrong. lol ~S~
SOB_TOM
Dear Lord, I did basically live in TRTR the hrs I worked it. If that park was open day/night, I would die. Then the rides would slowly go down one by one because there would be no maintenance guys to work on them, and then PKI would be no more. Think about that nightmare! stephenmayes
That would be kinda cool to work through the night....unless you had to open the next day... STEve
