jcgoble3 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 http://www.facebook....128995413868145 It'll be in their e-newsletter and is described on Facebook as "an 'out-with-the-old, in-with-the-new' ride announcement". They've already replied to me in the comments to say that this is not the announcement of Timberliners for the Voyage. What could it be? Quote
Avatar Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Just guessing as if it is just swapping, their scrambler ispretty old and needsan update. Quote
jcgoble3 Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Another comment on Facebook from HW: @Chris - we wanted to let folks know ahead of time, in case they want to ride it before we close for the season. Sounds to me like one ride is going to be removed and replaced with an entirely new ride. Quote
CoastersRZ Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Interesting. I wonder what ride they are taking out. I hope to get out to Holiday World next year and experience Splahin` Safari. I`ve made four visits to Holiday World, and never once actually been on any of their water slides... Quote
kingsrattler Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 The dippin dots guy told me they were taking out Voyage and replacing it with Son of Beast 2 Quote
rotag Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 i certianly hope its not the scrambler. that style (refering to it being manually controlled instead of the push button style) is hard to find. Quote
exscream team Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 well liberty launch isn't that reliable but im sure thats not it Quote
TombRaiderFTW Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Counting down to "new Gravity Group coaster" guesses in 5, 4, 3, 2... Quote
jcgoble3 Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 http://www.facebook....295550087129008 Another Facebook post with more specific details, confirming what I thought above: We plan to remove a ride (which is no longer dependable) during the off-season and bring in a new, different ride. XGatorHead 8904 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 And here it is, from the email newsletter I got from them today: http://editor.ne16.c...MailID=21319421 After providing 33 years of laughs and thrills, Paul Revere's Midnight Ride will retire at the end of this season. The Everly Aircraft Company based in Salem, Oregon, originally built the Spider for Santa Claus Land where it debuted alongside what is now known as Lewis & Clark Trail in 1978. Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride will saunter into the sunset at closing time on Sunday, October 9, giving you two weekends to enjoy a few last spins before it disappears for good.As we say goodbye to one ride, we’re already planning for another. We’re adding a 65’ Vertical Swing Ride! This new ride has the same 36” height limit as the ride it’s replacing, so smaller children can ride with their families. We’ll have more information about this fun new ride in the coming weeks. Quote
Beast1979 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 While it's sad to see Paul Revere leave, especially considering the constantly diminishing number of those rides, I believe a smaller Screamin' Swing like they're depicting will fit the park very nicely. I look forward to riding it and the leisurely views it should provide. Quote
thekidd33 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 It is more like a mini Starflyer then a mini Screamin Swing. Here is the picture that the park posted on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/holidayworld/6192292773/ Quote
HWBeast1039 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Paul Revere's Midnight Ride was the closest I'vs came to ever puking on a ride. I had to lay down on a table. Let's just say I never rode an octopus ride again. Just thought I'd put that in there Still sad to see it go, though. It was always the first thing we saw when waiting for the rope to be opened to unleash the Opening running of the bulls to the Voyage. Quote
Beast1979 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Sorry, I got those confused. Star Flyer, indeed. Quote
PhantomTheater Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 this is sad news, IMO Spiders are greater than its cousin models. Quote
sccard01 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Are these swing rides the new ferris wheels? I'm officially tired of seeing these type of rides. 2 Quote

stky6 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Paul Revere's Midnight Ride was the closest I'vs came to ever puking on a ride. I had to lay down on a table. Let's just say I never rode an octopus ride again. Just thought I'd put that in there Back in another life I use to run the rides at the Zoo. The Octo we had there had the seperate controls, one to get it spinning and the other to send the cars in the up and down. We would once in a while (meaning when Harley the maintenance guy wasn't around) give people an extra special ride by manipulating the up down control. Drop the car when the people were at the right spot to give them some air time, restart it at the right time on the up swing to push them into their seats. We would just have the hose ready to spray away the protein spills when we got done. Quote

bkroz Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 THAT WAS MY SUGGESTION. I imagined I wasn't the first, and I was right! Hahha. Quote
