raptor
One of my favorite rides ever! I love dark rides, especially boat rides, and I liked the idea that it wasn't a haunted ride but like you were visiting some fun happy place. DeLorean Rider
This is after it was changed from "The Enchanted Voyage," to "The Smurf's Enchanted Voyage" correct? Assuming so since it happened in 1984. The smurfs are also a good indication, haha
LongLiveTheSmurfRide
I believe the smurfs were living in the walls while The Enchanted Voyage was running; living off of food scraps and stray children who decided to jump out of the boats. Eventually the place was so infested they just changed the theme. At least, that's what I've heard.
The Interpreter
They since have moved on to the walls of Disaster Transport, having lived for a while in the walls of Starchaser at what was then Kentucky Kingdom.

LongLiveTheSmurfRide
Was this actually taken during Winterfest? Those 2 folks in the boat appear to be wearing summer-type clothes. Unless it was perhaps a mild Winterfest day (Or I'm mistaken on the clothes). Is it because of the lights? I thought there was a snow scene in the ride, but not sure if the decorations were Winterfest only.
raptor
Perhaps it wasn't Winterfest, my memory tended to think that it was, but I'm not positive.
Vortex
Found a video of it open during Winterfest.
raptor
Great Find! I'm almost sure the picture was Winterfest now that I think about it. Due to the size of the picture. All of my parents pictures at Kings Island when I was a kid were the old square ones except a few Winterfest pictures that were taken later than the others obviously with a 35 mm, since this picture is the 35 mm size it's allmost assured that this was Winterfest. Vortex
The video is not mine but their was one more smurf ride at Kings Island but it was just for one Winterfest in 1991. You took a ride on the Les Taxis and they had the smurfs set up around it.

KIfan73
I think that what is currently in that building is pretty sad...from the time you enter until the time you leave it..I think that it and the former Paramount story area of the park are two areas in desperate need of some attention.
