well, for once this year i didnt buy a season pass (for those who dont know, i went under a job change that wouldnt allow reason for season pass's). anyway, i arrive to the park & hear the national anthem right about the time ert starts up. so i went on into the park & was elated to discover that like in years past, you can now walk all the way down to the tower before being coraled off. i decided to check out & see if infactthey would let me up the tower; which they did (the view was nice as always)

after coming back down, i had made it my personal mission to be first @ something this year; so i decided that it would be to purchase the first mixed drink of the season @ outer hanks. much to my suprise, i have been hearing that instead of shrimps, the theme is burritos like chipotle. i got the first mixed drink of the season & proceeded to go to the other side to try these burritos. they were great, but after the hype i have been hearing that it competes with chipotle, i was majorly let down (as me being a BIG chipotle fan & these werent flavor wise close) but still great for what they were.

i mosed my way back over to the bar section to finish the burrito & mixed drink while watching a great view of the festhaus, lake, & viking fury swing in/out of the background. i really wasnt ready for much of anything @ the park yet, so i got me another mixed drink, & meandered my way to festhaus to meet-up with the first set of friends i aint seen this off-season. it was a good thing to as right about the time i got into festhaus, it started a short & fast pour-down. after that group of friends got done eating, it was time for us to venture to a ride.

as we went to check-out Invertigo with its nice new paint job, some of us noticed that the paint was chipping. while we waited, we formed little groups & i got to talkin with someone who also shares my sence off humor & love for horror movies/cult film classics. after that ride, we decided to go towards boo-blasters. but the one was hungry & i decided to split-off with him (cause i completly understand the need for food when youhave a severe lack of it) after that, the two of us went to beast but saw the line &was like "NO-WAY!" so as we walked, we picked up another friend. i went to the restroom while the other 2 went to get larosa's pizza in rivertown. we met back up & socialized over a smoke by the designated smoking area by the restroom. then the 3 of us split off & i went back to outer hanks for a bit.

while i waited there for a buddy to get done with his shift, i had some cake & peanuts. the rest of the day was surrounded by nut jokes, each time while i shook my package of nuts that was convienently there. afterwards. we went to skyline outside of the park as this was his first day on the job &funds were still limited. we came back to the park & made one round going from boo-blasters, then a walk past db over to rivertown pizza, up to the arcades in coney were i lost track of time playing skee-ball & the wizard of oz machine, then back over to outer hanks, where i got a second package of nuts.

then i got a text from one group of friends that had tried meeting all day were getting on beast & wanted us to meet them over by the exit. so we went through tower gardens & out the backs side of tower & db. we met up with them & rode the train followed by a ride on db. then we decided in order to beat the crowd out of the parking lot, go check out the new store next to thrill seekers & leave. along the way, i stopped & got a half/half of blue/vanilla swirl ice cream. the new store was called "i love the 80's" & O.M.G. was i ever having a major flashback to my childhood (& this was just looking @

the display window). then we all said our fairly wells & parted ways.

Very nice report, sounds like you had a very nice day. As for the burritos and the philly cheese steaks, I'm not really expecting Chipotle or Penn Station quality, though that'd be a really good surprise, I'm just happy to see from what I've read so far that they're good and compared to out of park offerings, not all that much more expensive. Good quality and good value has been missing from the park for a while.

Sorry I missed you Ro! I got to the park around 8:20, waited for Tolls to open, then waited for the turnstiles to open. Got two rides in on DB before I had to leave at 9:45 to pick up Mrs. Gator & GatorGirl and drive to the wedding. I just couldn't miss an opening day, no matter how little time I got to spend there!
