CedarPointer
WindSeeker opened at about 2:30-3:00 today. I was on the first public cycle.
jcgoble3
I rode WindSeeker shortly after 3:00 today. The seats definitely don't swing toward each other as much as they used to with the new shock absorbers. I didn't notice a difference in how far out away from the tower they swung. Both had been removed from the sign by 3:00 when I went out to my car.
slitthythroat
Yay! May not be my favorite ride, but provides an awesome view of the surrounding areas.

Ffej
Is WindSeeker running at KI after the incident with Cedar Point's? As a rider reported on Screamscape: “I was one of the unfortunate guests to be stuck on the WindSeeker. We were stuck for over 2hrs. After the ride did its normal spin at the top, a big gust of wind came through and pulled the wires that are attached to the tower away. So when the ride started to descend. the cable got stuck inbetween the spin part and began to be torn apart. Much of the covering was torn off and we watched much plastic pieces falling off. We were stuck for 2hrs at about 200ft in the air." There are several pictures of the damage: http://screamscape.com/html/cp_-_waveswinger_3.htm http://screamscape.com/html/cp_-_waveswinger_1.htm

It is disappointing to see how this prototype, which was built to withstand higher wind speeds than the starfliers, has so much trouble with the wind. McSalsa
WOW...that is some NASTY damage to CP WindSeeker...this ride (the damaged one) will not be open again for some time (1 month+) as I see an expensive repair that will need to be made...(Kings Island WindSeeker is, according to webcam, still open) With all these problems, I am beginning to wonder if WindSeeker will still be around at any CF park within 10-15 years...yikes... McSalsa
Update on CP WindSeeker, according to Screamscape- it's back open, and far sooner than I thought (Yep, I admit I was wrong)...I honestly thought that broken cable would take much, much longer to fix...perhaps WindSeeker may not be Crypt 2.0 x6, after all...and will still exist 10 years from now. A.S.Coasters
The cables did not snap (or break at all), they just went of of normal position. Put back into place-->open.
