Busch Gardens: Mach Tower closed indefinitely

Recommended Posts

For those who believe downtime seem to only surround CF parks:

Park spokesman Kevin Crossett said Mach Tower was removed from service July 12 while park officials "review manufacturer-recommended changes to the ride's parameters." Crossett said the current closure is unrelated to a previous closure in late June he characterized as maintenance-related.

"It's as good a time as any," Crossett said, of the closure's timing. He characterized the move as following "best practices," and added: "It's not a safety-related issue."

^^^ In the two(three?) years I have been on here, that is the first time I have seen your avatar change.

Back on topic, when I was at the park on July 5th, the ride was closed when we arrived, they started testing it, proceeded by allowing people into the queues. But before anyone stepped on the ride, it was shutdown again for the rest of the day.

I was a little bummed that it was not open, because when I was there last summer, my last day in Virginia was the day right before the soft opening of the ride. Two trips to BG; 0-2 on rides of Mach Tower. Verbolten was worth the trip though!

I can't access the article. Says I need to be a member to read it.

This does not spell good publicity to the park. I wonder why they didn't go with someone more "reliable" like Intamin (dare I mix those two words together!)? I've certainly never heard of Moser prior to the construction, and that speaks to me.
