DegenRider
Well this for employees but the employee fourm sucks so I put it here so everyone can comment. Carowinds has made it so you cannot enjoy the park after your shift is over. You can come in on your day off(when is that again?) but not after your shift. Whatya all think? Read about it here
PKIDelirium
Well, that blows!
Xx2cansamxX
Yeah, it does.
PKI Homey
I think it is a bad move for them. Why not ban the employees from being in employee areas when not on the clock?
pkidude03
Gosh! No wonder their staff is so rude! They won't let you stay on their rides to ride again when there's no one in your line either. One of their employees b*tched at me for asking him if I could stay on because no one was in my line. He said.. "get off & walk back around!!".. boy if I wasn't upset about that. coasterbilly
wow really? That's harsh, man they should let them run free after there shift, that blows.
StXBomber
Wow, that really makes no sense. I just don't see the reasoning behind that move.
GrandPoobah
Yeah, it's an annoying rule, but it really makes sense. I can't tell you how many times I've seen PKI associates in blue shirt and nametag, but with their shirts untucked, walking around the park with a group of friends. Basically what PCar is saying is, if you want to come to the park as a guest, don't be in uniform. Unfortunately, some employees don't follow the rules and then the privelige has to be revoked for everyone.
DeliriumDreamer
As an employee at pki, I'd say that bites. I would really not want to work there, if I couldn't enjoy the employee benefits when I'm off the clock.
SixFlagsMasta
yea i think they should allow it as long as they change (like it stated Disney does). then all would be good
CoastersNSich
From what I remember when I used to work there, employees who were enjoying the park off-duty were not supposed to have any part of park-issued wardrobe on. They were also discouraged from having conversations with on-duty associates while off duty. But I find Carowinds' new policy to be stupid. Isn't that one of the reasons why some people choose to work there. After all, the pay isn't the greatest. Taking away the major perk isn't going to help in terms of retention. dxrunner
I agree, if i wasnt aloud to enjoy the park after a shift, that would really suck, because it takes away a major perk. And i havent had a day off, in, well awhile and on a day off i want to sleep and catch up with other stuff, not go to the park, unless i have nothing to do that day, which dont happen much
HabloRM
For those who know me, I would go insane if I couldn't enjoy the park after work. I basically live at KI.
TheRickster
Yea you are not allowed to ride any rides or partake in any attractions with any uniforms on. Unless it is a Test Ride. We are not suppose to let anyone ride with uniform on either.
Metal Metor 200WP MAN
how do they enforce that rule at carowinds? i wouldn't see how they could. unless they were to check the scan out times from post 3 there would be no way.
SOB/Gun Steve-O
I'm just curious, how do they plan to enforce this rule? Have everyone clock out at the exit? I don't think I would care much if they did it at PKI, because I very rarely go to the park for fun - on an off day or after a shift. =Frantic=
that would drive me crazy, working at carowinds and not being able to ride anything all day
