LongLiveTheSmurfRide
Anyone doing this? http://www.visitkingsisland.com/article/media-center/Kings-Island-to-host-inaugural-Opening-Day-Color-Me-Pink-5k-Saturday-April-
LongLiveTheSmurfRide
FYI, I emailed the person who's listed as a contact for this to see if there's a course layout available yet, but they said it's still being determined. Vortex
Not real big on getting shot with color and staining my clothes. If that had a option not to get color shot at your clothes I would do it.
LongLiveTheSmurfRide
Wife and I are possibly doing it since the early bird price for non season pass holders is only $29.99 which includes admission to the park. Good deal. Not sure if you "have" to get hit with the color, but it sounds like fun to me.
beastrider97
I'm considering doing this. I love to run, and this would be a fun run to do right before I do the Flying Pig half marathon the next weekend.
Avatar
I have been on the fence on going to KI on opening day or to do the Louisville half with some running friends. I see them all the time and besides I have another half marathon schduled for the next weekend that I don't want to miss. I think this would be a great event to do on openong day especially if there are others who would like to do it together. These type of runs are for fun and the more that do it together the funner it is. So who all is in.
KIfan73
I'm seriously thinking about it.

flightoffear1996
I have never done a race before but I have been runnign for a few years now. I may do it. I think the colors can be simply washed.
Vortex
After seeing the Fox 19 clip no thanks. I be willing just to give money than stain my clothes and shoes.

Dieseltech20
Sounds like a good time. How about wearing OLD clothes. People do still have these, right?

KIfan73
I'm really excited about this, and hope it works out that I can do it. I've ran many 5ks, and can't wait to run one through Kings Island. For those worried about their clothes, you get a shirt on race day. Not worried about my shoes, either, I run in these...https://www.lunasandals.com
flightoffear1996
I think the paint washes off. Its probably the same kind they use in paintballs.

Maverick00
Is this the same as The Color Run? If so, I heard it's a lot of fun. http://thecolorrun.com/

Colonel_SoB_fan
Once my wife learned it was like the color run and I had off work she wanted to do it. I have done one 5k in my life. That was my freshman year at Eastern Kentucky. They have a 5k every year at homecoming, and I had a professor offer extra credit if we participated in the race. I did not plan on doing it, until I woke up earlier than earlier that normal that day and was bored. That was a mistake.

LongLiveTheSmurfRide
^ Couch to 5K is what got me back into running. Great little program and it really works if you keep it slow and don't worry about how fast you're running. Speed will come later.

Colonel_SoB_fan
Question what is the difference between racing as a team or as an individual?
LongLiveTheSmurfRide
Since this doesn't seem to be as big on the "race" side and more about the fundraising, maybe it's a way to raise money as a team because you can contribute more than just the cost of signing up. LongLiveTheSmurfRide
Route has been posted: http://www.visitkingsisland.com/images/uploads/file/Color%20Me%20Pink%205K%20Route(1).pdf Beginning is a little dull, but overall looks like a great route including a run under Diamondback. Cool ending with a splash in the wavepool (though I'm sure that it won't actually end right there, or that it will be full of water at the time). At least the parking lot section is at the start and not the end.
